AB - Objectives. The analysis of previous research shows that indicators of human factors have not been sufficiently integrated into the models for risk assessment of pressure equipment to date. Therefore, the goal of this article is the creation of a universal measurement scale to assess the current condition of the impacts of human factors on the risk of pressure equipment exploitation in factories and plants. Methods. A research instrument with nine constructs and 61 dimensions was designed and tested on a sample size of 268 companies, by reliability, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results. The final model contains exact quantification of nine constructs described by 27 influencing human factors on risk associated with pressure equipment exploitation. Conclusions. The most influencing construct is 'communication', whereas the construct 'organizational change management' is the least influencing. Also, applying Pareto analysis shows that the most important constructs identified are 'communication', 'safety and health at work', 'potentially hazardous materials and equipment', 'maintenance/inspection', 'human error' and 'trainings and competences of employees for crisis situations'. It is a recommendation for the process industry enterprises, where pressure equipment is in operation, to include the obtained model in the risk assessment processes they are using.

AB - Objectives. Previous research indicates that models for risk assessment of pressure equipment have not sufficiently or adequately integrated indicators of human factors and organizational factors. Methods. The goal of this article is to check the differences in attitudes of operators and managers engaged in the area of pressure equipment risk management. A questionnaire was designed and data were then collected from 253 operators and managers working with the same pressure equipment in Serbia. By applying a paired t test, differences in their attitudes were checked for issues described by the constructs of communication (COM), potentially hazardous materials and equipment (PHME), process safety (PS), safety and health at work (SHW), organizational change management (OCM), maintenance/inspection (MI) procedures, human error (HE), trainings and competences of employees for crisis situations (TCECS) and conducting research after accidents (CRAA). Results. It is statistically evident that the coincidence of attitudes accounted for less than 20% of questions. The highest coincidence is shown for PHME and TCECS, where one-half of the dimensions of the given constructs indicate that there are no statistically significant differences. Conclusions. The differences found could be used as an explanation for high-risk levels of pressure equipment exploitation and how they influence it.

AB - Mining is considered one of the most risky industrial operations. Development and application of risk assessment methods has the greatest impact on improvements in terms of safety in mining equipment. Risk is analyzed in many aspects i.e. human factor, environmental impact and operational aspects. Analyzing the mining machinery is a way to determine which ones have the greatest tendency to fail. The aim of this research is to compare data on failures obtained from 348 mining machines. All machines are arranged in 7 groups, namely 50 excavators, 50 bulldozers, 48 drills, 50 dumpers, 50 backhoe loaders, 50 bucket wheel excavators and 50 loaders. In order to compare the data, it is necessary to first determine the distribution under which the data belong. That is achieved by using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. After that the Kruskal-Wallis test was used to determine whether there is a relationship between the machines, viewed from the aspects of failure duration and failure frequency.

AB - BACKGROUND: Change in current approach to develop methodologies for process risk assessment, where it is commenced from the process industry and exclusively hazardous materials are dealt with, into the approach where it will be commenced from pressure equipment within any context and both technical and organizational aspects are considered, can lead to the orientation of a more comprehensive approach to risk assessment, and thereby to better results in this area. OBJECTIVE: The goal of this study implies the creation of a universal measurement instrument that will measure and quantify organizational factors impact on the risk of pressure equipment exploitation. METHODS: The research instrument was drawn from previous research and tested by the multivariate statistical methods using the sample size of 253. RESULTS: The confirmatory factor analysis conducted shows that the most influencing organizational factor is 'subcontractors for works from other enterprises' with maximum value of 104, whereas the factors 'maintenance/inspection', 'safety and health at work' and 'human error' are by 10% to 20% less influencing. There then follow 'training and competence of employees for crisis situations', communication', 'potentially hazardous materials and equipment' and 'organizational change management' and the factor 'conducting investigation after accidents' with the lowest value of 29. Pareto analysis indicates that the factors 'communication', 'subcontractors for works from other enterprises', 'organizational changes management', 'potentially hazardous materials and equipment', and 'training and competence of employees for crisis situations' participate with 80%, and they should be given special attention in practice. CONCLUSION: The instrument offered can ensure proactive information on the influence of organizational factors as risk predictors of pressure equipment operation, before given influences lead to accidents with severe consequences.

AB - The bioeconomy aims at decreasing reliance on fossil fuels, preventing or reducing climate change, eliminating insecurity, and efficiently using resources; however, fierce controversy exists on conceivable pathways to accomplish these objectives. The transport sector alone, which encompasses all other industrial sectors, has grown with regard to its energy demand by 50% over the past 30 years. The aim of this paper is to promote a dialogue as to whether an economy based on biomass can be more sustainable than today's existing economies, considering that the economy needs to expand and be boosted, while creating a cascading and recycling system. This semi-systematic review paper discusses four research questions based on findings from the last 20 years: (i) What are the crucial issues in the ongoing debate on the development of a sustainable bioeconomy concept? (ii) Where are the major conflicting points and focuses? (iii) How does the bioeconomy follow current urbanization and land-abandonment trends? (iv) How will the crisis linked to the COVID-19 pandemic change these previous scenarios? As it is not easy to currently predict which pathway will be the most effective, whether it be the one taken as of now or a specific novel pathway, this article recommends following a strategy that is diverse regarding its approaches to shaping the bioeconomy and further funding of renewable energy sources, along with the involvement of urban planning. In addition, conclusions are validated through a questionnaire completed by 51 experts in the field.

AB - This manuscript is presenting the results of the research, conducted during the International
Visegrad project: “How to prevent SMEs from failure (Actions based on comparative analysis in Visegrad countries and Serbia)”. The project was realized during the period 2018-2019. The importance of the factors that can influence SMEs failure were collected through specially designed questionnaire that included individual and non-individual factors. In the group of non-individual, external and internal factors were analyzed. The ranking of collected factors were done using the contemporary multi criterion decision making tools. The results of this previous project will be introduced, in the first part of the paper, as the input for the results obtained in 2021-2022 in frame of the new research project, which will be presented in the second part of the paper

AB - The accelerated development of information and communication technologies has caused notable changes in all spheres of life and business. In order to contribute to their own economic goals and the economy in general, companies are forced to embrace technological innovations. This study aims to test a hypothesis that the digitalization of business operations in small and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs) positively influences economic development. Since the degree of digitization is a complex phenomenon, it is approached through several quantitative indicators. The data from the Eurostat database were used for the research. The analysis results obtained using the structural equations modeling confirm the positive relationship between the level of digitization of SMEs and gross domestic product (GDP).

AB - Novel integrated risk management model for standardized management systems, such as ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management systems, ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for information security management systems, ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety management systems, and ISO 22000:2018 for food safety management systems, has been proposed in order to enable that organizations can manage their processes and associated risks versus requirements of each internal and external stakeholder, due to the fact that those models rarely exist in literature. Proposed model consists of three levels - correspondence, coordination and integration and put in place a clear and structured approach to controlling organizational risks. Using sample of 30 Serbian companies the proposed model has been checked empirically to contextual independence of proposed model using Mann-Whitney U*test and it has been proved that model is context free and applicable to companies different in size since there were no differences between micro & small vs. medium & large companies. Limitation of this research for sure is the sample size, so its extension is recommended. Further recommendation for future research is also a more detailed analysis on collected data done by using more sophisticated statistical analysis tools, such as regression analysis, structural equations modeling and similar to see interrelations between variables in the proposed model.

AB - BACKGROUND: Previous research has shown that the collection and analysis of crane operators' anthropometric characteristics is very important for operators' comfort, health and working ability and also from the aspect of performance, productivity and safety. OBJECTIVE: The first aim of this survey is to collect up-to-date anthropometric data of crane operators in Serbia and to collect those data for the first time in Libya. The second aim of this survey is to compare the collected data. The third aim is to model the interior space necessary to accommodate operators in the cabins they operate in Serbia and Libya. METHODS: Standing height, sitting height, lower leg length, upper leg length, shoulder width, hip breadth, arm length, foot length and weight data were collected of 83 Serbian and 50 Libyan crane operators. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and tests for differences between variables were conducted to examine differences between Serbian and Libyan crane operators and enable further modeling. The modeling of the cabin interior was done using both univariate and multivariate operators' models from both samples. RESULTS: There are only four common correlations between variables for both samples. The only measurement without statistical differences is shoulder width. Serbian crane operators have statistically higher values of almost all measurements in comparison to Libyans. The minimal cabin interior space dimensions are 1207 x 1080 x 1884 mm for Serbian operators and 1106 x 1040 x 1790 mm for Libyan operators when using univariate approach, while multivariate approach provides more precise and comfortable accommodation within 1327 x 1123 x 1926 mm for Serbian operators and 1203 x 1090 x 1830 mm for Libyan operators. Accordingly, our survey shows that percentile models include less than the intended population proportion in the design problem with few dimensions and depends on correlations among them. CONCLUSIONS: A number of problems are solved through modeling the crane operator workspace and it has been shown that cabins with different dimensions have to be offered to Serbian and Libyan markets.

AB - This paper proposes innovation through “translation” of phonocardiogram signal obtained from electronic stethoscope into an algorithm, procedure and software that gives an opportunity to each primary-care physician either in town or hardly reachable countryside to reliably and cost effectively diagnose mitral valve prolapsed (MVP) without engagement of resources such as highly specialized diagnostic methods that are available only in modern clinical centers, expensive equipment and complex training of experienced cardiologists for interpretation of results together with high maintenance costs analysis its cost-effectiveness. Till now very few research address the cost-effectiveness of various approaches to the patient undergoing medical evaluation, so this paper analyses the economic feasibility of MVP software application through cost-benefit framework. The pay-back period of the invested funds is 4 years and it represents a good investment, while critical sales price is 159 euros per software license and switching number of installations is 429 units.

AB - On the threshold of the 4th industrial revolution this survey is aimed to survey technology and employees behavior interaction, due to the fact that previous research has shown that this topic is not surveyed enough. For instance, recent advances in ICT have allowed manufacturing enterprises to use remotely controlled decentralized manufacturing processes and have led to development of different types of interfaces in the framework of industry 4.0. This paper examines data collected in 119 industrial companies. Modern technology latent variable is described by technological dimensions such as level of automation, level of IT application, and technological level against competitors, while employees behavior concept is described by employees' pro-activity/reactivity, interpersonal relations, collectivism/individualism and decentralization. Statistical examination included descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, factor and reliability analysis. Results show that variables are appropriately described with significant correlation between examined constructs. It could be concluded that upgrading of technological levels forces employment of proactive people with soft culture in industrial companies.

AB - This paper presents an approach to the digitalization of the workplace risk assessment and monitoring process. Workplace risk was assessed using the “5x5” method. Workplace are spatially distributed in the observed factory. The summary risk assessment is presented visually and the high-risk workplace is marked. The map is made dynamically so that the job estimates on the diagram changes if there is a charge in the input data for any of the identified sources of risk.

AB - Anthropometric data are essential for designers of products, while hand anthropometric measurements are of special importance due to the fact that grasp enables different manipulation tasks. Literature review shows that differences on anthropometric characteristics of the hand based on laterality in Serbian context have not been examined till now, so this study tested it on the sample containing 110 subjects - 23 left-handed and 87 right-handed. Hand anthropometric measurements include 30 anthropometric dimensions measured on each examined participant. Dimensions are taken by capturing the imprints of the subjects' outstretched hands. Collected data were subjected to descriptive statistics, t-test, Kolmogorov test and Mann-Withney U* tests. Also, 5th and 95th percentiles are calculated on all dimensions. Results show that there are no statistically significant differences based on laterality in Serbian context. Accordingly, hand tools and many other equipment, which are controlled by means of Serbian operator could be designed in the same manner both for workers whose dominant had is left and right. Also, percentiles values are calculated and should be taken into account in design processes. It is recommended, in future research to enlarge sample, repeat statistical testing and analyze hand grasp possible issues.

Proposed VGS allows predicting whether a dangerous event is going to occur and promptly alerts the crane-operator in order to let her/him taking corrective actions during the execution of crane-assisted shifting duties. VGS is equipped with interface which is designed to be simple in terms of the number of commands and easy to use in order to reduce the operators’ stress. Analyses of the economic feasibility of VGS application through cost-benefit framework follows. The payback period of invested funds for the purchase and installation of VGS is 1.5 years and installing and usage of VGS represents a very low risk investment.

AB - The collection and analysis of anthropometric characteristics for various passenger car user populations is a very important predecessor of the design process. The first aim of this survey is to collect up-to-date anthropometric data for male passenger car drivers in Serbia and to collect those data for the first time in Libya. The second aim of this survey is to compare the collected data and enable further modeling using both univariate and multivariate operators' models from both samples. Anthropometric measurements on standing height, sitting height, lower leg length, upper leg length, shoulder width, hip breadth, arm length, and foot length were collected for 921 Serbian and 300 Libyan male drivers. Results show that, for Serbian male drivers, a correlation between variables exists in 67.85% cases, while for Libyan male drivers, a correlation between variables exists in 39.28% cases. The comparison of mean values between variables for Serbian and Libyan male drivers showed that, beside shoulder width, all others have significantly higher values for Serbians than for Libyikans. Consequently, there are different interior space dimensions of the vehicle obtained: for Serbian drivers, interior space dimensions amounted to 1500 x 561 x 1230 mm and for Libyan drivers amounted to1400 x 591 x 1155 mm which are useful to passenger car designers in eliminating existing anthropometric inconsistencies.

AB - Gap analysis represents a tool for raising the level of performances of products, processes and enterprise organization which is rarely used in risk management. This paper proposes the joint application of Gap and Pareto analysis, in aim to mitigate possible risks in production processes. It is based on the facts that key points in the production process indicate some serious oversights (gaps), characterized as errors, which can grow into risky elements that disturb the manufacturing process and final transmitter assembly. In this paper, finalizing and assembling pressure transmitter elements (modules), created by a domestic manufacturer, served as an example for the Gap analysis. Each electronic transmitter is consisted of three modules: measurement cell, mechanical coupling fixture and enclosure containing the electronics and the terminal block box. Through the implementation and assembly of these modules errors (or elements of potential risks) have been identified. Later on, using the Pareto chart, it has been seen that 80% of errors made during the transmitter manufacturing process have occurred while implementing the first and the third transmitter module. Also, by analyzing the collected gaps, it has been concluded that the critical ones happen while using the existing technology and engaging workforce. In order to eliminate the above-mentioned errors, this paper decidedly presents the Gap analysis steps which should be followed, so the transmitter manufacturing process would be improved in terms of quality. Similar methodology could be applied to other products and processes.

Similar methodology could be applied to other products and processes.",

AB - Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of ISO 9001 quality improvement requirements in ISO 9001:2008, i.e. the corrective and preventive actions and internal audit, on customer satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach: For the purposes of the study, data were collected via a survey on 200 aerospace and transportation companies that belong to a Canadian multinational company supply chain. The relationships between the corrective and preventive actions and internal auditing, on the one hand, and customer satisfaction, on the other, were examined via the structural equation modeling technique. Findings: The major contribution of this study is that it has identified internal audit as the most influential continual improvement ISO 9001 requirement prior to the ISO 9001 transition phase, along with the corrective actions, while the preventive actions in the present formulation do not significantly influence customer satisfaction. Research limitations/implications: This study is based on a cross-sectional survey conducted on the supply chain level in the aerospace and transportation sector; hence, a longitudinal study is possible as a future research avenue. The generalizability of this study’s findings is limited to similar supply chains around a multinational company consisted of companies that have at least ISO 9001 standard, but also fulfill other industry-specific requirements. Also, findings are based mainly on quality managers’ attitudes, so future studies are recommended to examine other positions’ views, too. Practical implications: This research contributes to the literature and bridges the gap between theory and practice. It could be of value to both the certification bodies and the organizations that are interested in improving customer satisfaction by implementing ISO 9001 in the multinational supply chains context such as the aerospace and transportation sector. Originality/value: While the influence of the ISO 9001 standard on customer satisfaction has been the subject of prior research, this is the first time that the simultaneous effect of the corrective and preventive actions and internal auditing on customer satisfaction has been studied. The validity of the removal of preventive actions from ISO 9001:2015 has also been analyzed.

AB - In the metalwork production a large part of gross domestic product is being achieved by automating the production in large factories, the finalists, but even a larger part comes from subcontractors and companies that have small-scale and mass production of maintenance elements and other services. Therefore, the production with higher degree of stochastics and organization mostly occurs during the production, and it happens, but to a lesser extent, that everything is planned and set in advance, and according to those facts this survey is going to analyze one of the most important production indicators - the production cycle. In this paper we are experimentally demonstrating the original stochastic method of determining 10 different production cycle working hours, and production cycle itself is determined out of factory driving records. The research also enables determining the flow coefficient which represents the function between the size of the series and technological or real time of the production cycle. Within the framework of a broader research we are contributing results of four years long record, from 2011 to 2014 for a large company with high level of organization. The production cycle per years (2011-2014) amounts to 326, 233, 248 and 236 minutes, while the flow coefficient is Kp=(277/x+0.24) the one that enables and experimentally determines optimal series which is in total 9 items for the company in question.

AB - This paper is a part of ongoing research on passenger car drivers' and crane operators' anthropometric measurements data collected in aim to make comparison, explore ergonomic adaptation and fi nally improve safety. It represents one of the rare explorations containing the Libyan male drivers and crane operators' data, and accordingly it is one of the fi rst researches in anthropometric fi eld on Libyan population. Herein, statistical analysis on Libyan 300 male drivers and 50 crane operators collected data shows that male drivers are taller, and have higher sitting height as well as upper leg length values, while crane operators have slightly wider shoulders and hips. Both Libyan groups have the same arm and foot lengths. Apart of Libyan male car drivers and crane operators, research includes also and Serbian car drivers (921 Serbian male drivers) compared with crane operators (83 crane operators). Obtained data show that Serbian male car drivers have signifi cantly larger standing height and upper leg length values, while foot length is signifi cantly lower for drivers than for crane operators. Passenger vehicle and crane cabins designers can benefi t from this survey.

AB - Welded joints are analysed as critical regions in a pressure vessel in respect to structural failure due to the elastic-plastic fracture/crack growth. To assess structural integrity of pressure vessels used in chemical industry the risk based procedure has been introduced and applied in the case of a large spherical pressure vessel used as a vinyl -chloride monomer (VCM) storage tank in HIP Azotara Pancevo. The risk matrix has been used, taking into account the basic definition of risk, being the product of the probability and consequence, and applied to different regions of welded joints, having different mechanical properties, i.e. crack resistance. To estimate probability, the failure assessment diagram (FAD) has been used, as an engineering tool, defined according to the position of the operating point for different regions of the welded joint, relative to the critical point on the limit curve. Generally speaking, consequence is estimated based on pressure vessel parameters, or by detailed analysis of health, safety, business and security issues, but in the analysed case, the worst case scenario is assumed, with the highest consequence due to potential disaster for environment and fatalities.

pressure vessels used in chemical industry the risk based procedure has been introduced
and applied in the case of a large spherical pressure vessel used as a vinyl ¬chloride
monomer (VCM) storage tank in HIP Azotara Pančevo. The risk matrix has been used,
taking into account the basic definition of risk, being the product of the probability and
consequence, and applied to different regions of welded joints, having different
mechanical properties, i.e. crack resistance. To estimate probability, the failure assessment
diagram (FAD) has been used, as an engineering tool, defined according to the position of
the operating point for different regions of the welded joint, relative to the critical point on
the limit curve. Generally speaking, consequence is estimated based on pressure vessel
parameters, or by detailed analysis of health, safety, business and security issues, but in
the analysed case, the worst case scenario is assumed, with the highest consequence due
to potential disaster for environment and fatalities.",
