AB - Gap analysis represents a tool for raising the level of performances of products, processes and enterprise organization which is rarely used in risk management. This paper proposes the joint application of Gap and Pareto analysis, in aim to mitigate possible risks in production processes. It is based on the facts that key points in the production process indicate some serious oversights (gaps), characterized as errors, which can grow into risky elements that disturb the manufacturing process and final transmitter assembly. In this paper, finalizing and assembling pressure transmitter elements (modules), created by a domestic manufacturer, served as an example for the Gap analysis. Each electronic transmitter is consisted of three modules: measurement cell, mechanical coupling fixture and enclosure containing the electronics and the terminal block box. Through the implementation and assembly of these modules errors (or elements of potential risks) have been identified. Later on, using the Pareto chart, it has been seen that 80% of errors made during the transmitter manufacturing process have occurred while implementing the first and the third transmitter module. Also, by analyzing the collected gaps, it has been concluded that the critical ones happen while using the existing technology and engaging workforce. In order to eliminate the above-mentioned errors, this paper decidedly presents the Gap analysis steps which should be followed, so the transmitter manufacturing process would be improved in terms of quality. Similar methodology could be applied to other products and processes.

AB - The paper presents an original method of determining the elements of the production cycle time by using the modified work sampling method applied to a textile factory. It is shown that the movement of the elements of time can be viewed as a process and in the mathematical sense can establish control limits of error of +/- 3 SD. The mean time of the production cycle of the groups created by the number of pieces in the series t(pcu) moving the hyperbolic function, which has the asymptote c, a function of the form (t) over bar (pcu) = c + b/log n, where all groups of the production cycle in the mathematical sense do not act like strata but are function tpci, related to technology and deterministic factors of the production series.

AB - This paper presents a model for the stochastic determination of the elements of production cycle time is proposed and experimentally verified in this survey. The originality of the model is reflected in the idea of using a work sampling model to monitor the production cycle, as one of the most significant indicators of production effectiveness and efficiency, instead of applying classical methods. Based on experimental investigations in this paper has been proved that in the practice of small and medium-sized enterprises with serial production it is possible to design and apply a very simple but accurate enough stochastic model to determine the elements of working cycle time and in this way optimize the duration of production cycle time. Proposed stochastic model uses mean value calculations to establish control limits on 3 standard deviations for the individual elements of working time and thus to master the process. It is proposed that further investigations should focus on the application and testing of the model in other types of production, for example, assembly and the like and also at the problem of reducing the elements of transport time. The model was applied and involved a larger number of Serbian enterprises. The results obtained for two characteristic textile enterprises will be presented in this paper.

AB - This paper discusses a new way of modelling the width of the space that accommodates the drivers of passenger vehicles. The fact that there is a more or less fixed zero point, which is the origin of the coordinates of the man-vehicle system makes it possible to determine the mechanical-mathematical co-dependence in this system more accurately. The space is determined by taking extreme pairs of the dimensions and a series of anthropometric measurements to which the vehicle needs to be adjusted as the measurement limits. These were determined by analysis which includes both the theory of mechanisms and vehicle mechanics. In this way the method of adapting the vehicle to accommodate a range from the 5th-percentile woman to the 95th-percentile man has finally been surpassed. The paper demonstrates a methodology for designing the interior space of a passenger vehicle based on the fact that, in a range of anthropometric measurements of equal total lengths, each measurement has segments of different lengths, because people with the same leg lengths have different upper- and lower-leg lengths. Therefore the interior space of the vehicle is designed to accommodate extreme measurements and to allow for limitations caused by movement and the physical laws derived from seeing the anthropometric measurement mechanism as a mechanical mechanism. The paper offers a design for the space behind the windscreen, the position of the steering wheel, and the position of the foot controls together with the total space which the driver occupies, primarily from the aspect of anthropometric limitations, concluding that the maximum width for accommodation of the driver at the lowest level of a seat along the x axis is 169 mm, and along the y axis is 1013 mm.

abstract = "This paper discusses a new way of modelling the width of the space that accommodates the drivers of passenger vehicles. The paper offers a design for the space behind the windscreen, the position of the steering wheel, and the position of the foot controls together with the total space which the driver occupies, primarily from the aspect of anthropometric limitations, concluding that the maximum width for accommodation of the driver at the lowest level of a seat along the x axis is 169 mm, and along the y axis is 1013 mm.",

AB - The study examines the impact of strategic factors on quality management in industrial companies. Basically, it was hypothesized that QM concept is not universally applicable, but strategy-dependent. Research comprised the sample of 111 Serbian industrial companies. A model is assumed for relation between strategy and QM critical factors; it is assumed that it is mediated through management style and employees behavior. Research instrument was developed, and preliminary data analysis was carried out to arrive at final model of relation between strategic, management style, employees behavior and QM factors. Final model data were subjected for reliability and validity analysis, so as to perform structural equation modeling, by means of which pathway and path coefficients in the model were determined. Context-dependent nature of QM concept has been proved by confirming direct impact of employees behavior, and by confirming accessory hypotheses for indirect impact of strategic and management style factors in the model. Adequate model of statistically significant relations was obtained, which, being a newly developed theoretical framework, provides inferring a range of new and practically checkable conclusions, as well as recommendations for applying QM in Serbian industrial companies. Strategy with risk taking elements is not appropriate for QM practice, while appropriate strategy elements include innovations, cost minimization and analytical elements, that exert influence on proactivity, long term planning and motivating as dimensions of management style. Employees behavior with its dimensions such as proactivity, good interpersonal relations and spirit of collectivism is dependant on management style and exerts influence on concept of QM.

AB - The subject of this paper is statistical assessment of significant dimensions of strategy in domestic industrial enterprises, and it is done on the sample of 111 enterprises. On the basis of relevant literature, experimental survey of critical dimensions of strategy as the concept is conducted through reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis. Scale reliability of investigated constructs was evaluated through calculation of Cronbach coefficient. Explorative factor analysis is conducted by principal components method. Received recommendations on important dimensions of the strategy point to the fact that the elements in the strategy of risking have lower significance than others, so that the recommendations for domestic industrial enterprises are to have elements in its strategy: differentiation and innovation of products, minimizing costs, and analysis of products, markets and consumers. More significant strategy elements are differentiation and innovation of products, minimizing costs, and analysis of products, markets and consumers, because the dimensions of strategy risking dropping give an increase of reliability coefficient from a value of at a= 0.66 to a = 0.69 value. Elements of risk-taking may be contained in the strategy (the value is greater than 0.6), although not of equal importance as other components (which reduce the coefficient of reliability when they are thrown out). .

AB - This study presents the research results whose aim was to examine and define dependences and the impact of public relations on business effects (economic indices are taken as representatives of business effects). Serbian companies were the object of this research. The data were collected by polling 100 managers from 100 companies. Multivariate regression and correlation were applied in order to determine the observed dependences. The research results confirm the existence of a significant direct relation between public relations and economic indices.
