AB  - PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) method as a visual aspect of the
fluid flow behavior, by itself is a continuous „problem“ as its
exploitation is multi-layered and significantly negligible in
comparison of the visualization shown. Namely, vector and point
positioning are a direct matrix proportion which is delayed in
comparison with the original disposition in accordance with the time
passed in which the exploitation was performed.
Exploitation of „material“ is a severely significant factor in the
maintenance process of critical systems as PIV (Particle Image
velocimetry) systems.
In this paper, the maintenance process of a critical laser component
is defined in context of retention of stable measurement of airflow
behavior in a standard subsonic closed type wind tunnel.
The paper describes the procedure of maintenance of a mechatronic
system which is used in PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) method,
independently in the aspect of the hardware components (energy,
power) and in the aspect of the software-based system

AB  - The need for small and micro unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for use in military as well as civil applications is larger than ever before with a high probability for a growing demand in the future. The large variety of possible implementations and applications of these vehicles contributed to a lot of different designs and concept solutions. While these designs often vary in regards to their aerodynamics and construction, most of them use a DC electric motor paired with a propeller as means of propulsion. This is especially emphasized in recent years due to the fact that BLDC motors have achieved levels of very high power density. In this paper commercially available off-the-shelf BLDC motors in combination with commercially available off-the-shelf propellers are considered. Optimization algorithm is used in order to determine the optimal match of BLDC motor and propeller which gives the highest efficiency of the complete propulsion system for different flight conditions.

AB  - This chapter identifies and describes the key concepts and techniques for BLOB and CLOB integration into the IoT core. Data system centralization has sped up the solution of problems with large amounts of data storage and processing, particularly if the data is large by its nature. In that sense, everyday stream of photos, audio and video content, large textual data files led to new concepts BLOB and CLOB. Adequate examples of stored procedures, views, C#, JAVA, HTML5 i PHP languages, follow the establishing communication methods. Finally, the chapter will illustrate two practical examples of IoT: the example for pagination on a large database with million BLOB and CLOB objects, and the example for dynamic mechatronic system of a fire truck with feedback.

AB  - The manner of gear shifting is one of the main factors affecting the fuel efficiency of motor vehicles. Potential savings resulted from optimized gear shifting led to introduction of gear shift indicators in passenger vehicles as an obligation from year 2012. The effects of gear shift indicators usage are still not studied enough. That was the motive for the authors to conduct the experiments to justiji their usage, both from the economic and ecological standpoint. The presented results come from the tests conducted on FIAT 500L vehicle to determine the fuel consumption using the new European driving cycle, but for three different gear shift patterns:- (1) as defined in UNECE Regulation No, 83,(2) as indicated by vehicle's gear shift indicator, and (3) based on the average vehicle speed values collected from gear shift indicators of 35 passenger vehicles of different makes, types, and characteristics. Maximum difference in fuel consumption recorded in tests done using three different gear shift patterns is 18.7%.

Two-dimensional numerical analysis of active flow control by steady blowing along foil suction side by different urans turbulence models

AB  - The effects of active separation control by steady blowing jets were investigated numerically on three different examples: subsonic flow past Aerospatiale A airfoil at 13 degrees angle-of-attack, transonic flow past NACA 0012 airfoil at 4 degrees angle-of attack, and transonic flow in linear compressor/turbine cascade. Performed analyses are two-dimensional, flow is turbulent (or transitional) while fluid is viscous and compressible. Jets are positioned along the suction sides of the foils, the first one being located just upstream of the separation point, and modeled by source terms added to flow equations. Several different jet diameters and intensities are investigated. As the choice of turbulence model affects the final solution of Reynolds equations, turbulence is modeled by four different models: Spalart-Allmaras, realizable k-epsilon, k-omega SST, and gamma-Re-theta, and a comparison of obtained results is performed. Goals of the study include definition of an adequate numerical setting that enables sufficiently correct simulation of the problems in question as well as evaluation of the possible increase in aerodynamic performances. Lift coefficients, lift-to-drag ratios or relative pressure differences are improved for all controlled cases.

Influence of selected turbulence model on the optimization of a class-shape transformation parameterized airfoil

AB  - An airfoil was parameterized using the class-shape transformation technique and then optimized via genetic algorithm. The aerodynamic characteristics of the airfoil were obtained with the use of a CFD software. The automated numerical technique was validated using available experimental data and then the optimization procedure was repeated for few different turbulence models. The obtained optimized airfoils were then compared in order to gain some insight on the influence of the different turbulence models on the optimization result.

AB  - Experimental investigation of transonic flow at Mach number of 0.84 around a subsonic/transonic transport calibration model ONERA M4 at four different angles-of-attack has been conducted in T-38 trisonic blow-down wind tunnel of the Serbian Military Technical Institute. Experimental results include relative pressure and pressure coefficient distributions along three wing sections. Obtained aerodynamic performance data present a good basis for CFD studies. Both experimental and numerical set-ups and processes are briefly described. Numerical simulations are performed in ANSYS FLUENT 16.2 with several different turbulence models employed. Two different sets of results are presented and compared. Pressure distribution along the wing surface, sonic bubble on the wing suction side and wingtip vortex have been investigated in more detail and presented in form of contours and iso-surfaces.

AB  - Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) based on the finite volume method were used in order to obtain the aerodynamic characteristics of a jet nozzle. After the transient CFD results were gained the Ffowcs Williams-Hawking formulation for far-field noise modeling was used for aeroacoustic computation. A grid sensitivity was done and different turbulence models were tested. The obtained results were then compared with publicly available experimental data after which a conclusion was derived.

AB  - Problem akustičkog zračenja vetroturbine bitan je za procenu uticaja vetroturbinu na životnu sredinu. Razumevanje mehanizama generisanja buke, te određivanje i merenje buke je stoga od izuzetnog značaja. U ovom radu prikazana je klasifi kacija buke vetroturbina, defi nisani su njeni izvori i načini prostiranja. Takođe predstavljene su različite metode proračunskog određivanja aerodinamičke buke i prikazani su neki od najznačajnijih radova iz ove oblasti. Date su procedure akustičkog merenja buke pri čemu je skrenuta pažnja na moguće probleme pri merenjima i na postojeće standarde. Kroz primere iz literature predstavljene su aktuelne metode ispitivanja aerodinamičke buke i dat je uvid u moguće pravce daljeg usavršavanja i unapređivanja.

AB  - Ovaj rad prezentuje statičko testiranje strukture kompozitne lopatice W55RBVS vetrogeneratora snage do6kW. Testiranje je bazirano na statičkom testiranju strukture do trenutka loma lopatice. Glavni cilj testiranja je definisanje krutosti lopaticeW55RBVS, određivanje maksimalne sile koja dovodi do loma kao i relativni razmah loma lopatice. Kompozitne lopatice W55RBVS, proizvedene u firmi WING.d.o.o., a ugrađuju se na dvokraki vetrogenerator Eoltec Scirocco. Ovaj test je definisan standardom IEC 61400-2. Ispitivanje lopatica je izvršeno u Laboratoriji za aerotehniku Mašinskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu. Test opterećenja se izvodi do momenta loma lopatice.Rezultat testiranja će biti iskorišćen za redizajniranje lopatice W55RBVS.
AB  - This work demonstrates static testing of a composite blade W55RBVS structure for the wind turbines of up to 6kW power. The testing consists of the static testing of the structure up to the moment of the blade failure. The main purpose of the testing is to define and directly verify the rigidity of the blade W55RBVS,to determine the maximum force which leads to failure and the relative span of the blade failure. W55RBVS composite blades, manufactured by the company WING. doo and are installed on a two-blades wind turbine Eoltec Scirocco. This test is defined in the standard IEC 61400-2 /8/. Blade testing is performed in the Aerotechnics Laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Belgrade University. The load test is performed up to the moment of the blade failure. The result of the testing will be used in order to improve the design of the blade W55RBVS.

AB  - Aerospace engineering is the primary branch of engineering concerned with the design, 
construction and science of flight vehicle. Consequently, they are usually the products of 
various technological and engineering disciplines including aerodynamics, propulsion, 
avionics, materials science, structural analysis and manufacturing. These technologies are 
collectively known as aerospace engineering. It is divided into two major and overlapping 
branches: aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering. 
It is typically a large combination of many disciplines that makes up aeronautical 
engineering. The development and manufacturing of a modern flight vehicle is an extremely 
complex process and demands careful balance and compromise between abilities, design, 
available technology and costs. Aeronautical engineers design, test, and supervise the 
manufacture of aircraft. They also develop new technologies for use in aviation. 
Aeronautical Engineering is a chapter that encompasses challenging areas such as aircraft 
design, light-weight structures, stability and control of aeronautical vehicles, propulsion 
systems, and low and high speed aerodynamics. The field also covers their aerodynamic 
characteristics and behaviors, airfoil, control surfaces, lift, drag, and other properties. 
The chapter will include all our research and published papers.

Computer Simulation of fast hydraulic actuators

AB  - Mathematical model of fast hydraulic actuator dynamics, based on Riemann’s 
equations, is presented in the paper. Fast hydraulic actuator can be assumed as two serially 
connected compressible fluid flows controlled by supply and return variable flow restrictors 
enclosed in control servo-valve and separated by actuator piston. Exhibited dynamic model 
includes several physical effects, such as: fluid viscosity and compressibility, compression and 
expansion, wave propagation, actuator equivalent inertia, potential external load and arbitrary 
servo-valve control input. Solution of the presented mathematical model is evaluated by using the 
method of characteristics. Corresponding boundary conditions assume the actuator piston position 
as a movable boundary between the direct and the reverse part of the actuator chamber.

AB  - Pregrade unutar korenog dela čeličnih industrijskih dimnjaka sprečavaju međusobni uticaj struja dimnih gasova iz naspramno postavljenih dimovodnih kanala. U slučaju nesimetričnosti masenih protoka i različitih temperatura gasova, kao i neadekvatnog izbora dimenzija pregrade, može doći kako do povećanja lokalnih gubitaka strujanja tako i do neravnomerne raspodele termičkih opterećenja plašta dimnjaka. Nesimetrična raspodela napona po obimu plašta dimnjaka nepovoljno utiče na ponašanje konstrukcije u toku eksploatacije, te može rezultovati pojavom oštećenja i ugroziti integritet konstrukcije. Pri postavljanju pregrade potrebno je razmotriti njen uticaj na strujanje u dimnjaku, njegovu funkcionalnost i efikasnost rada imajući u vidu različite radne režime celokupnog sistema. U radu su prikazani rezultati izvedenih CFD analiza strujanja unutar korenog dela dimnjaka sa više dimovodnih kanala. Izvršeno je poređenje rezultata numeričkih simulacija strujanja sa i bez pregrade. Takođe je izvršena analiza uticaja pregrade na ravnomernost raspodele termičkih opterećenja korenog dela dimnjaka.

AB  - U radu su tretirane Rimanove parcijalne diferencijalne jednačine u obliku izraza (1) gde je promenljiva μ definisana relacijom (2). Odgovarajući granièni uslovi definisani su u različitim oblicima, kao što su granični uslovi pritiska i protoka i to na fiksnim i na pokretnim granicama. Problem je formulisan sa ciljem da opiše kompletnu dinamiku hidrauličkog aktuatora, uključujući njegov stvarni protok i geometrijske karakteristike. U tu svrhu napravljen je poseban algoritam i odgovarajući računarski paket za simulaciju kompletne dinamike hidrauličkog aktuatora, uključujući i prisutne efekte talasa. Za rešenje problema korišćena je metoda karakteristika. Rezultati računarske simulacije dinamike hidrauličkog aktuatora predstavljeni su 3-D dijagramima.
AB  - The paper treats Riemann's partial differential equations in the form (1), where variable μ is defined by relation (2). Corresponding boundary conditions are defined in various forms, such as boundary conditions of pressure and flow on the fixed and movable boundaries. Problem formulation is constructed in order to describe hydraulic actuator dynamics in a complete form, including its real flow and geometric characteristics. Special algorithm is generated and a corresponding computer package for simulation of the complete hydraulic actuator dynamics, including the existing wave effects, using the method of characteristics to obtain the desired problem solution. Results of computer simulation of hydraulic actuator dynamics are presented in 3-D diagrams.

Practical method for thermal compensation of long-period compound pendulum

AB  - The methods for compensation of the clock pendulum thermal dilatation presented in literature are based on combined analytical and experimental procedures. As a rule, the mass center position is always compensated analytically with sufficiently large factor of safety, while the refinements are obtained experimentally. An analytical method has been studied for the pendulum thermal compensation which considers not only the mass center but also the pendulum mass moments of inertia of the first and the second order. Fast and efficient mathematical method as well as the practical constructive solutions are presented which allow the technically acceptable thermal compensation of the long period compound pendulum. The proposed calculation procedures are iterative and fast converging, which make them suitable not only for the design of vintage "wood rod - lead bob" pendulums, but also for the modern pendulums which feature rods thermally compensated by invar alloy. Moreover, the proposed principles and methods are useful in all scientific measurements where the effect of thermal noise must be minimized or even eliminated.

AB  - A procedure of dynamic modeling for an arbitrary structure segment with connected Piezo-actuators, is presented in this paper. The suggested procedure is based on the Finite Element Method by using thermo-elastic modeling to obtain the Piezo-actuator dynamic formulation. The developed mathematical model of the structure segment is evaluated by using the method of dynamic model reduction.
