AB  - The use of artificial intelligence in modern agriculture is on the rise, due to the fact that it provides a possibility for more efficient production, better decision making and reduction of the costs. This research takes into consideration the use of the convolutional neural networks for diagnosing plant illnesses based on the leaf image. Detection of plant diseases in the early phase can improve the quality of the food products and minimize the loses. Convolutional neural networks are a type of deep learning method that is one of the most used models for solving image recognition, classification and detection tasks. Therefore, it is justified to anticipate that they can be very effectively applied in the agriculture sector. This paper covers plant species that are the most significant for Serbian production. Various models have been presented and analyzed, while highlighting their advantages and disadvantages when applied for solving this task.

AB  - Chamber dryers are widely used in various industries in order to remove the moisture from solid materials efficiently. Optimizing the design and operational parameters of chamber dryers plays a crucial role in enhancing their performance and energy efficiency. In order to maintain the temperature at the desired level, it is necessary to implement a good control system. To be able to facilitate the process of finding and setting parameters of the controller, for many control algorithms it is essential to make the reliable model of the object. The aim is to develop both reliable and accurate predictive model that can assist in optimizing the design, structures, and inspection processes of chamber dryers, which will lead to enhanced energy efficiency, harvesting and improved drying performance.
In this paper, the authors propose a novel approach for modeling heat flow transfer in chamber dryers using an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). The Quanser chamber was selected as the object of the research because of how closely its geometry, material choice, and air flow resemble the structural properties of a dryer. To obtain the most realistic model possible, parameters of ANFIS were found using Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm. By incorporating historical operational data of experimental measurements, the ANFIS model can learn and adapt to the dynamic behavior of the dryer system.

AB  - In the contemporary food processing industry,
there is a tendency to automatize sorting process along with
minimizing the waist. Therefore, the efforts to improve large –
capacity industrial systems for the sorting of agricultural
products are constant and go from various image processing
techniques towards the area of machine learning. Among deep
learning techniques, You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm
offers the potential of recognizing and determining the location
of noncompliant products. In this paper, the study that evaluates
the performance of YOLOv3 algorithm in sorting of raspberries
is represented, together with a logical solution model of a
centralized color sorting system and developed web application.

AB  - This paper covers the application of artificial intelligence in agriculture. Technology development has enabled measurement, collecting and processing high quality big data. These data can be successfully used to significantly improve numerous segments of agriculture sector. The accent in this paper is given on the models used for energy use prediction. The application of Artificial Neural Networks with different structure is presented, such as Feedforward Neural Network, Radial basis Function Network and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System. Support Vector Machine model is also shown. The improvements of individual models are elaborated, through the analysis of the ensemble and hybrid approach. All of the proposed models are capable of solving complex problem of prediction of energy use based on real, measured data. Ensemble and hybrid models are promising, as it has been shown that the prediction accuracy is improved by combining different single models in proposed manner.

AB  - Theoretical cycle analysis is an indispensable part of the refrigeration system and heat pump (HP) design. However, due to the simplicity of the calculations and numerous assumptions, there is a deviation from the actual behavior of the system. In this paper, a single-stage, reversible CO2 system, which can operate in both air-conditioning and heating mode, with and without an internal heat exchanger (IHX), was presented. In the heating mode, the deviation of the theoretical cycle from the actual cycle of the heat pump was analyzed, under various operating conditions. Actual cycles were formed based on the experimental investigation of this system. The changes of various parameters and deviations that are made due to a simpler calculation are presented.

AB  - This paper analyzes the operational characteristics of the Tuzla brewery refrigeration system after the installation of the Danfoss IPS8 air purging device. In order for an analysis such as this to be conducted correctly, one must understand where in the brewing industry the need for refrigeration occurs, how non-condensable gases are accumulated inside of the refrigeration system, and how the separation of non-condensable gases is done. After the theoretical part of the analysis, in which the thermodynamic basics of the ammonia refrigeration cycle is explained, an analysis of annual savings was conducted. The results of the analysis are presented in the form of annual savings in electricity consumption, for different operating conditions of the specific refrigeration system with and without a purger. At the end of this analysis, the amount of released non-condensable gases were also calculated.

AB  - The largest amount of energy in Serbia households is spent on heating needs. Therefore, the main idea of this paper is to compare the heating bills for a residential building in Belgrade using various energy sources. Electric boiler, gas-fired condensing boiler, and air-to-water heat pump are analyzed. For calculating expenses, the current electricity and gas rates in Serbia have been used. For selected cases, both primary energy use and CO2 emission have been compared.

AB  - The paper analyzed three generations of R744 systems: the basic booster system, the booster system with parallel compression, and the multi ejector system. The aim was to compare these systems from the point of view of efficiency and electricity consumption. The analysis is based on the model with two temperature levels of evaporators –30 °C and –10 °C, and with a total cooling capacity of 250 kW and 150 kW, respectively. The analysis was carried out for the climatic conditions of the city of Belgrade in the summer period when the greatest differences in operation are expected. The results showed that the next system generations achieve savings in electricity consumption for the considered period.

AB  - From planting to harvest, the primary aim of agricultural producers is associated with monitoring cultivated plant species (arable crops or fruit plantations) in arable field areas during the vegetation period in order to make timely and appropriate decisions regarding the implementation of adequate agricultural measures to provide optimal plant development and to maximize the yield. Information about the current state and recent changes in crop sets over the vegetation period represents an important basis for reaching more precise decisions in the spheres of agronomy, economics, and environmental protection. By analyzing large amounts of interdisciplinary spatial data over longer periods of time, key information becomes available, facilitating monitoring crops in larger land areas, and providing the definite picture of changes in arable plots and ecosystems. Spectrometry is the most widespread method of scouting crops. Indirect analysis of the data obtained this way can help determine nutritional deficiencies of crops, as well as defective states caused by diseases, weeds, or pests. Consequently, it is possible to ensure the distribution and administration of optimal doses of appropriate fertilizers and pesticides subsequent to or concurrent with monitoring within the optimal agricultural frame and/or with changeable dosage norms. This review covers various technological processes for spectral crop scouting contingent on various technical resources and sensors. At the end of the paper, advantages and disadvantages of each resource are given, and the key comparisons are made in terms of the efficacy and precision of these resources.

Effect of freezing in the industrial conditions on quality of strawberry fruits

AB  - Freezing is the method usually used for preserving delicate fruit, because the product tends to maintain its original attributes, i.e., keeping its nutritional properties as close as possible to those of fresh fruit. Strawberry is a widespread and highly demanded fruit, but the fresh fruits are available in a short period of time and the largest amount of strawberry is processed by freezing. The aim of the paper is to determine the effect of process of freezing in the industrial conditions, with precooling, on the relevant parameters of the strawberry quality.  The fruits were frozen in the conventional freezing tunnel by cold air temperature of –33 °C until reaching a temperature of –15 °C in the thermal center of the fruits. Packaged frozen fruits were stored in the chamber  at –18 °C. In order to determine the changes in strawberry quality, the content of dry matter, total sugars and acids, pH, vitamin C, and sensory quality characteristics were analyzed. Also, quality index of the fresh and frozen strawberry is determined by calculation. The obtained results showed that there were no significant changes in the physicochemical parameters of quality after the freezing of the strawberry fruits. Significant  changes are found in the sensory characteristics and the most remarkable is the loss of consistency and firmness of the frozen strawberry. Also, some modified color, taste and aroma of the strawberry fruit have been noticed after freezing in the industrial conditions.

AB  - The comprehensive survey on the sample of 1857 elementary and high schools in Serbia was done during
2016 and 2017. These questionnaires required general data on each institution, as well as answers to 48
questions related to architectural building characteristics and HVAC and electrical systems used. This
paper presents the results of the analysis of the gathered answers to sections related to installed HVAC
equipment and building characteristics that affect functionality and energy efficiency of HVAC systems.
The elaborated questions are related to heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and DHW systems coverage
in schools, type of heating system, age of heating system, primary fuel used and the users` satisfaction
with the heating system. The correlation between heating system and the users` evaluation of the
installed heating, as well as the correlation between the used energy fuel and the users` rating of heating
are presented. Different forms of energy and emissions are evaluated: energy needed for heating and
DHW, delivered (final) energy, primary energy and CO 2 emission. The results obtained for each typical
school building (representative building defined in school typology) in specified construction period (also
defined in typology) are expanded to whole school building stock in Serbia. Three different levels of
improvements are evaluated. These improvements include increasing of thermal insulation of buildings
and interventions on HVAC systems and estimation of possible energy savings.
AB  - Obimna anketa sprovedena tokom 2016. i 2017. godine na uzorku od 1857 osnovnih i srednjih škola na
teritoriji Republike Srbije obuhvatila je opšte podatke o svakoj instituciji, kao i 48 pitanja o arhitektonskim
karakteristikama zgrada i primenjenim sistemima iz domena mašinskih i elektro instalacija. U radu su
prikazani rezultati obrade ankete za termotehničke instalacije, kao i za arhitektonske karakteristike koje su
bitne za funkcionalnost termotehničkih instalacija i energetsku efikasnost škola. Pored obrade
pojedinačnih pitanja u anketi: zastupljenost uređaja za grejanje, ventilaciju, klimatizaciju i pripremu
sanitarne tople vode, vrsta sistema za grejanje, starost uređaja za grejanje, korišćeni primarni energent i
zadovoljstvo korisnika instalisanim sistemom za grejanje, utvrđena je i korelacija između sistema za
grejanje škole i ocene neposrednih korisnika o kvalitetu grejanja, kao i korelacija između dominantno
korišćenog energenta i zadovoljstva korisnika grejanjem u školi. Analizirana je potrebna energija za
grejanje prostora i pripremu STV, finalna (isporučena) energija, primarna energija i emisija ugljen-dioksida od rada KGH postrojenja. Rezultati dobijeni za svaki tipsku zgradu (prema usvojenoj tipologiji školskih
zgrada) i kategorijama po periodu izgradnje škola, prošireni su na celokupni školski fond u Srbiji.
Analizirano je 3 nivoa unapređenja zgrada poboljšanjem termičkog omotača školskih zgrada i
termotehničkih instalacija u njima uz procenu mogućih energetskih ušteda.

AB  - The load distribution of simultaneously meshed gear teeth pairs has a significant influence in determining the relevant stress for the working capacity calculation of cylindrical gear pairs with respect to surface and volume strength. According to conventional calculation procedures, the influence of the boundary-ideally uniform load distribution, when all simultaneously meshed teeth pairs are equally engaged in the load transfer, on the teeth flanks stress state is taken into account by approximate expressions for contact ratio factor Z epsilon. In addition, this factor is not defined, no assumptions were given on the basis of which approximate expressions were determined, and no procedure for determining these expressions was disclosed. This paper defines a factor on the basis of which an analysis of the boundary-ideally uniform load distribution can be carried out. By observing the contact lines in the meshing area, when one and two or two and three meshed gear teeth pairs are alternating during the meshing period, a set of analytical expressions is developed to describe the boundary-ideally uniform load distribution of simultaneously meshed gear teeth pairs. Based on the developed analytical expressions, the limiting values of the gear teeth flank stresses can be determined more precisely and the degree of accuracy of the approximate expressions for the contact ratio factor which are given in conventional calculation procedures can be tested. The analysis carried out in this paper can be used for more accurate considerations of all cylindrical gear pairs occurrences which depend on load distribution, such as: load capacity, mesh stiffness, vibration, noise, energy efficiency, etc.

Based on the developed analytical expressions, the limiting values of the gear teeth flank stresses can be determined more precisely and the degree of accuracy of the approximate expressions for the contact ratio factor which are given in conventional calculation procedures can be tested. The analysis carried out in this paper can be used for more accurate considerations of all cylindrical gear pairs occurrences which depend on load distribution, such as: load capacity, mesh stiffness, vibration, noise, energy efficiency, etc.",

AB  - Посредством предложеног новог техничког решења омогућава се постављање спектрометријских сензора на платформу која се потом агрегатира и прикључује на трактор у три тачке помоћу његовог подизног механизма. Доње прикључне тачке платформе везане су за рамску конструкцију платформе помоћу четири завртањске везе и могуће је подешавање њиховог међусобног растојања у хоризонталном правцу. На крила платформе се може поставити различит број сензора. Могуће је подешавање размака између њих. Средње крило налази се на вертикалним вођицама, те се његовим вертикалним кретањем подешава растојање између сензора и усева. Два бочна крила платформе везана су зглобном везом за средње. У транспортном положају бочна крила се подижу вертикално, а у радном положају се спуштају у радни положај и имају распон 6410 mm.

AB  - Machine inspection is a mandatory technological process in industrial processing agriculture products. The camera detects color and shape based irregularities of the object resulting in a large number of parameters for decision-making and sorting product compliance. The goal was to discover a new criterion for decision-making using only the output signal of the RGB camera. Research employed the digital images of raspberries, blackberries, peas and yellow beans during real processing, obtained from a color sorter machine. The visual texture of the surface of the agricultural products was described via defined statistical indicators of color (color average value (Avg), standard deviation (Stdv), entropy (E), and lacunarity (L) was used from the sphere of image fractal analysis as one of the criteria. By applying the non-parametric tests: Wilcoxon signed rank and Friedman test, statistically significant difference was established for the L and Е criteria between compliant and non-compliant industrial products

AB  - This paper presents a case study of a barley field experiment that was periodically scouted using a drone spectral camera. The camera has 4 bands so barley was scouted using 4 wavelengths of light - Green, Red, Red Edge and Nir Infra Red (NIR). Based on these wavelengths it is possible to calculate different vegetation indexes known in science and practice. In this paper, 15 such indices were used. The research work concerned the observation of correlation between individual wavelengths and corresponding vegetation indexes. This paper seeks to emphasize the importance of particular wavelengths and spectral areas in crop scouting

AB  - Industry 4.0 represents the newest generation of industry development. Every day the various demands in industry are getting more and more demanding. The demand for shorter production and delivery time, more efficient and automated processes has led us to the Industry 4.0. It is necessary to include and integrate the latest developments based on digital technologies as well as the interoperability process across them. The goals is to enable companies to transmit information in real time in terms of performance and behaviour. Industry 4.0 can be applied to any branch of industry. Agricultural industry is no exception. As far as agricultural machinery is concerned, it is a very important part of agricultural industry. Agricultural machinery incorporates electronic controls and it is a part of digital age, enhancing their current performance. AB  - On the hitherto installed chillers/rooftop units/dry coolers and air coolers, a significant improvement in cooling was noticed in the summer mode when the pipe bundle is sprayed with water. Tests have been performed on systems that produce water mist (micron-sized water droplets), which are formed by spraying water under high pressure through the nozzles/nozzle openings. When a drop of micron-sized water comes in contact with warm air, it evaporates very quickly, absorbing a certain amount of heat, which results in cooling the air. This improves the operation of the cooler in critical periods when the ambient air temperature is very high. The aim of the test is to determine the improvement of the cooler operation under operating conditions with the application of the described system in relation to the operating mode without water spraying (dry operating mode).

AB  - This paper deals with the procedure for measuring the relevant parameters of plate-finned tube heat exchangers operating as an air heaters. Besides the description of the experimental installation, the most important geometric characteristics of these appliances are given. In order to determine the relevant parameters for dry and wet regimes (for cases with and without spray cooling), experimental measurements of the heat and hydraulic performance of the heat exchangers were made. Water flowed through the pipes as a warmer fluid. During the experiments, the flow rates and temperatures of the working fluids were varied within the limits defined by the operating parameters of the installation itself, sufficient to allow the obtained results to be generalized. The experimental data were processed by appropriate statistical methods; the aim was to determine equations suitable for engineering practice. The coefficients of the air-side heat and mass transfer and friction factor are defined on the complex geometry of this type of heat exchangers under realistic operating conditions, as a function of the relevant similarity criteria.

AB  - The aim of this paper is a theoretical analysis of the operation of an air-to-water heat pump located in the Labo-ratory for Thermal Science at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade. This results provide the basis for further experimental analyzes of this installation.
The paper gives a comparative overview of the performance of a scroll and reciprocating compressor when pro-pane (R290) is used as a refrigerant. Also, the analysis of the influence of internal subcooling on the thermodynamic cycle is presented. Finally, according to the developed model of the heat pump performances investigation, the change in the average values of Coefficient of Performance (COP) during the average heating season, for the period 2014 – 2018, is shown.
AB  - Cilj ovog rada je sveobuhvatna teorijska analiza toplotne pumpe vazduh–voda koja se nalazi u Laboratoriji za termotehniku Mašinskog fakulteta u Beogradu. Ostvareni rezultati predstavljaju odličnu osnovu za eksperimentalna ispitivanja ove instalacije.
U radu je dat uporedni pregled performansi spiralnog (skrol) i klipnog kompresora kada se kao rashladni fluid u instalaciji toplotne pumpe koristi propan (R290). Takođe, urađene su analize uticaja unutrašnjeg prehlađivanja na termodinamički ciklus i analiza performansi toplotne pumpe na osnovu napravljenog modela. Na kraju, prikazana je promena vrednosti efektivnog koeficijenta grejanja (COP) za prosečnu grejnu sezonu, u periodu od 2014. do 2018. godine, na osnovu podataka Republičkog hidrometeorološkog zavoda Srbije.

AB  - When preparing a crop scouting mission using UAS, two parameters are set: flight altitude and overlap of images. In practice, crop scouting is most often done at altitudes of 70 to 100 meters, and the switchover is most often between 50 and 100%. The research question that is dealt with in this paper is whether there is a significant difference in the obtained light reflection indexes and consequently postprocessed vegetation indexes, depending on height and overlap. The flight height of the UAS dictates spatial resolution, and the switching dictates the time resolution of the 
reconnaissance. The research was carried out on the experimental plot of barley. The missions were consecutive and performed in perfect weather conditions. The sky was clear, and the light was approximately uniform during all missions with variable heights and overlaps.

AB  - The inspection and sorting of agricultural products is a necessary technological operation in the agricultural and food industries. Research in this area shows significant potential in improving the inspection and evaluation of fruits, vegetables, the quality of cereals and other agricultural products, as well as the evaluation of the quality of prepared food products by non-destructive methods. As an integrated system, machine vision has been widely used to test, monitor and control various industrial processes. The increasing and complex performance requirements of 
modern machine vision systems require their further improvement through the development of new, intelligent solutions. Automatic non-destructive recognition of the qualitative characteristics of different types of bio products is a constant challenge for researchers, where the imperative is on product and method which is applicable in industrial conditions. In this regard, there is a large number of works with experimental and numerical data collected for different construction solutions and operating conditions. This paper will analyze the development of machine vision as well as its application in agriculture over the last five years. A special part will be guidelines for the direction of further research in the field of optical recognition of agricultural products.

AB  - This paper presents different methods for detecting changes in the condition of crops and making a special contribution through the presentation of modeling a tractor platform for crop scouting. This platform was designed in the APS LAB laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade intended for the placement of spectrometric sensors. The choice of a suitable method or algorithm for the desired crop scouting is crucial for the success of further analysis of the obtained 
data. Four modes of spectrometry are presented. Beside handheld sensors, there are described methods of data capture via drones and satellites. Most of this paper belongs to the use of sensors in the composition of agricultural machines. This type of scouting is the most effective when it is carried out simultaneously with the distribution of mineral nutrients and crop protection. The tractor platform, on which the sensors are located, can be either a worn type or a connecting type that allows connection to a tractor in three-point in the conventional way. Except for the aforementioned ways, the sensors can be placed on the roof of the tractor or directly on the working machines. 
The process of constructing and modeling the front tractor platform is presented in detail in Solid Works program. Apart from the construction shown, there is a possibility of changing the platform. All foreseen and feasible variants are presented in this paper.

AB  - This paper presents an analysis of convective heat load of frozen surfaces. A mathematical  model for determination of "dry" and "wet" heat loads has been formed. The mass heat transfer  coefficient  σ  i s estimated by the  Chilton -Colburn's analogy .  T he impact of re levant  parameters of  convective  loads (flow velocity and relative humidity over ice, the surface temperature of the ice  rink  and the characteristic length of ice rink )  has been analyzed . Finally, measures  for  improv ing  the energy efficiency of the system  has been  highlighted.
