The Influence of Temperature Gradient on Thin Plates Bending

AB  - Within the theory of thermo-elasticity, the temperature field of thin plates 
is commonly defined via two parameters: temperature in the mid-plane and 
linear temperature gradient normal to the mid-plane. First, the paper 
analytically proves the justification of that assumption in machine 
structures. Then, in an analytical closed form, applying the integral 
transformation method, the thin plate deflection caused by a constant 
temperature gradient is defined. It is shown that, in that case, the plate 
deflection does not depend on its thickness but only on the plate 
dimensions in the mid-plane. Analytically defined values are compared to 
corresponding values obtained by applying the thin plate finite element, 
where the temperature field is described using the two mentioned 
parameters. This finite element is defined and programmed within the 
Komips program package. The influence of the temperature gradient on 
the behavior of constructions mostly depends on the type of material. That 
is why the behavior of some structural elements made of brass, steel, and 
concrete is analyzed in this paper.

AB  - Temperature distribution in the metallic plate influenced by high-frequency
electromagnetic wave depends on thermal and electrical properties of the
plate material. The goal of the paper is to present the significance of the
temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity and its influence on the
plate heating. A mathematical model of the problem was established and an
analytical closed-form solution to the problem was presented. The active
power of the electromagnetic wave was calculated by Poynting vector.
Temperature field was obtained by integral-transform technique. Numerical
examples were presented for three different materials (copper, aluminum, and
steel). Calculated results show the large influence of temperature dependent
electrical resistance on heating of the metallic plate.

Identification of the cause of incorrect work of bumper paint robot reducer

AB  - Industrial robots are used for high-precision tasks and in intensive production.  One of the most reliable methods for monitoring robots’ work is vibrodiagnostics, which provides recommendations and maintenance procedures, and also serves as a reliable diagnostic method for determining the causes of industrial robot failures. Connection of robot and the supporting structure is very important and it affects on dynamic behavior of the robot. This paper presents the process of diagnosing dynamic condition of the structure with painting robots, after the failure of the robot motion reducer. To analyze the causes of the failure, a numerical analysis was performed, which included: static calculation, dynamic calculation, determining transfer function in frequency domain and reinforcement factors. Supporting structure has very low eigen-frequencies (3,5 to 9.5 Hz), it cannot accept inertial forces and large deformations and resonant behavior occur. Using FEM analysis is shown that the behavior of the structure is unfavorable because 20 eigen-oscillations had a frequency less than 17 Hz, and all are located in the robots’ working space. Determination of the transfer functions showed that the dynamic gain factor in all three directions of the excitation force is extremely large, while the corresponding frequencies are 5 ÷ 20 Hz.  It was determined that the main problem was the rigidity of the supporting structure.

Optimization of the bucket wheel boom length using structural reliability approach

AB  - In this paper, structural reliability is applied to compare the original
bucket wheel boom (BWB) of excavator SchRs 740 and the series of boom
structures obtained by lengthening the original boom from 0 to 10 m.
Stress field of BWE is acquired using finite element method. Then, stresses
and yield criterion are modeled using probability density functions to
account for uncertainties in their randomness. This stochastic approach is
used to determine BWB’s reliability, reliability index and probability of
failure, with respect to various cases of optimization, namely, structure
lengthening. Consequently, it enabled the evaluation, quantification and
comparison of overall response of the similar structures taking into
account range of stress rather than conventionally based single value
approach. So, structural reliability approach can be used to evaluate,
compare similar structures and thus, provide more sophisticated
assessment than most of the structural analysis that are deterministic in
their nature.

CAD Structural Optimization of Large Cantilever Girders on Cranes

AB  - The paper deals with the structural optimization of the cantilever girder. Standard CAD
optimization tool is used for the model of the main girder on a large jib crane. The objective
function is the minimum weight of the girder subjected to the given payload, while constraint
functions are postulated according to the usual structural rules and regulations. The illustrative
example shows an easy way of optimization which can be used in everyday CAD designing practice.
It gives practical recommendations in the selection of variable parameters. The obtained results
indicate that the algorithm is time-saving when compared to the analytical approach, especially
when variability of the section needs to be included in the design.

AB  - U radu je predstavljen metod za predviđanje intenziteta saobraćaja na sistemu za naplatu putarine
za različit broj unapred određnih naplatnih rampi koje će biti otvorene. Sistem za naplatu putarine je
predstavljen kao više jednokanalnih sistema ospluživanja, gde jedan kanal predstavlja jednu naplatnu
rampu. Razvijanjem metodologije zasnovane na predviđanju parametra opsluživanja za unapred zadati broj
otvorenih kanala, kombinacijom neuronskih mreža i modela masovnog opsluživanja evaluirane su
verovatnoće stanja sistema za naplatu putarine i ukupni troškovi istog . LSTM neuronska mreža (eng. Long
short term memory) sa unutrašnjom standardizacijom korišćena je za predviđanje parametra opsluživanja.
Analizirane su 24 arhitekture mreža, model sa najboljim prediktivnim performansama je izabran i korišćen u
cilji predviđanja parametra opsluživanja.
AB  - In this paper method for predicting states of toll station system for different number of open toll
ramps is developed. The system for toll payment is modeled as single channel queuing model, where one
channel presents toll ramp. The novel methodology based on combination of reccurent neural networks and
queuing theory is presented. The goal of the methodlogy is to evaluate total costs and probability of traffic
intensity at the pay toll stations.. Long short term memory neural network (LSTM) with layer normalization
is used as a model for prediction intensity. The 24 different architectures of network are analyzed, and the
best one is used as the predictor for intensity of vehicles arrivng time.
