AB  - Nitinol is a material widely known because of its super-elasticity characteristic which is important in the cyclic load area. Atherosclerosis is a disease of the modern age that involves blood vessels narrowing. If this condition is not properly treated, the consequences can be serious. Therefore, it is of great importance to study the optimal characteristics of the stent and the hemodynamic condition in the blood vessels. Self-expanding nitinol stents have been often used to treat arterial narrowing. This paper will analyze the influence of the ratio between the stent diameter and the blood vessel diameter and their correlation with radial forces in the case of atherosclerotic plaque or fibrous cap. Also, this paper will analyze recommended stent thickness to ensure satisfactory deformations at the end of the fatigue cycle.

AB  - Tankozide cilindrične strukture imaju veoma visoku primenu u industriji. Pošto su obično opterećene na aksijalni pritisak, najčešći uzrok njihovog otkaza je pojava izvijanja. U ovom članku se prikazuje numerička analiza izvijanja tankozide cilindrične strukture izrađene od legure aluminijuma sa imperfekcijom u vidu udubljenja na sredini strukture i eksperimentalna verifikacija rezultata dobijenih tom analizom. Numerička analiza je odrađena pomoću softvera ANSYS 16.2, a eksperimentalna ispitivanja pomoću hidraulične prese Armavir, PSU-50, na kojoj je uzorak podvrgnut aksijalnom pritisku čiji se intenzitet postepeno povećavao do pojave izvijanja. Poređenjem rezultata eksperimenta uočeno je značajno smanjenje vrednosti kritičnog napona na izvijanje između epruveta bez imperfekcije i epruveta sa imperfekcijom od 2 mm, dok su vrednosti kritičnog napona za epruvete sa imperfekcijama od 2 mm i 4 mm približne.
AB  - Thin-walled cylindrical shells are commonly used in numerous branches of industry. Since they are subjected to axial load, the most common cause of their failure is buckling. This paper provides numerical analysis and experimental verification of the buckling of the thin-walled aluminium alloy cylindrical shell with special regard to the influence of dent, positioned in the middle of the shell. Numerical simulation was performed using ANSYS 16.2, and experimental verification was performed by means of hydraulic press Armavir, PSU-50, which was used to subject the specimen to the increasing axial load until the occurrence of buckling. Comparing the results it was concluded that there is significant decrease of the buckling resistance if compared the values of the specimen with no dent, and the specimen with 2 mm deep dent. On the contrary, resistance of the 2 mm and 4 mm dented specimen is quite similar. Position and shape of the deformations occurred due to buckling are matching if experimental and numerical results are compared.

AB  - This paper presents experimental determination effectiveness of active vibration control system depending on
sensor location. The active structure consists of an composite beam as the host structure, strain gages as the sensors
and piezoceramic patch as the actuation element. The Wheatstone bridge, sensor platform, is used to measure the strain
of mechanical system which represents the control signal in system. The active vibration control system is controlled by
PID control strategy. Control algorithm was implemented on the PIC32MX440F256H microcontroller platform. For
the experiment two locations for sensor platform are chosen. In order to determine the influence of piezoelectric
ceramic actuator work on sensor (control) signal the tip deflection of beam is measured by high speed camera. The
active vibration control system effectiveness of both sensor and actuator positions are considered. Experimental results
demonstrate that the presented control method is effective for both locations but the stability of the system can be
violated.

AB  - Određivanje veličine i položaja piezoelektričnih aktuatora i senzora za aktivno upravljanje vibracijama savitljivih struktura obično je bazirano na maksimalnoj efikasnosti upravljanja i postizanja maksimalnog izlaza za modove vibracija od interesa. Integracija piezoelektričnih delova utiče na masu i dinamičke performanse bazične strukutre. Ovo je prvi deo istraživanja koje predstavlja teorijski razvoj višeciljne fazi optimizacione tehnike za određivanje položaja i veličine piezoelektričnih aktuatora i senzora na tankozidnoj kompozitnoj gredi. Kriterijumi optimizacije za određivanje optimalne veličine i položaja piezoelektričnih aktuatora i senzora zasnivaju se na stepenu upravljivosti upravljanih modova. Procedura optimizacije obuhvata ograničenje promene prvobitnih dinamičkih karakteristika i ograničenje u porastu mase. Pseudociljna funkcija, zasnovana na teoriji fazi skupova, daje izraz za globalnu ciljnu funkciju eliminišući upotrebu težinskih koeficijenata i kaznenih funkcija. Optimizacija rojem čestica je upotrebljena za nalaženje optimalne konfiguracije.
AB  - Sizing and location of the piezoelectric actuators and sensors for vibration control of flexible structures is usually based on maximum control effectiveness and achieving the maximum output for the vibration in the modes of interests. Integration of piezoelectric patches affects the mass and the original dynamic properties of the parent structure. This is the first part of the two-paper research which presents the theoretical development of the multi-objective fuzzy optimization technique of sizing and location of the collocated piezoelectric actuators and sensors on the thin-walled composite beam. The optimization criteria for the optimal size and location of piezoelectric A/Ss are based on the degree of controllability (DC) for controlled modes. The optimization procedure implies the constraining of the original dynamic properties change and the limitation of the mass increase. A pseudogoal function, derived based on the fuzzy set theory, gives an expression for global objective functions eliminating the use of weighting coefficients and penalty functions. the particle swarm optimization technique is used to find the optimal configuration..

AB  - Ovo je drugi deo istraživanja višeciljne fazi optimizacije veličine i položaja piezoelektričnih aktuatora i senzora na tankozidnoj kompozitnoj gredi. Prvi rad je fokusiran na teorijskom modelu optimizacione tehnike za optimalno dimenzionisanje i postavljanje piezoelektičnih aktuatora i senzora na pametnu strukturu za aktivno upravljanje vibracijama. U ovom delu, biće prikazana numerička analiza predstavljene optimizacione tehnike za kompozitnu konzolu sa i bez ograničenja u pogledu stepena upravljivosti za rezidualne modove.
AB  - This is the second part of a two-paper research of the multi-objective fuzzy optimization of sizing and location of the collocated piezoelectric actuators and sensors on the thin-walled composite beam. The first paper is focussed on the theoretical model of a optimization techique for optimal sizing and location of piezoelectric actuators and sensors on a smart structure for active vibration control. In this part, the numerical analysis of the presented optimization technique will be presented for the cantilever composite beam with and without limitations in degrees of controllability (DCs) for residual modes.

AB  - This article investigates active vibration suppression of a flexible beam with a low dominant frequency using strain gages sensor and dual layer piezoelectric actuators. The strain gages sensor and piezoelectric actuators are in patch form and are surface-bonded to the cantilevered end of the composite beam. The feedback PID control algorithm is adopted for active vibration control of the composite beam . The effects of different gains in proportional, integral and derivative control are considered experimentally. Experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the vibration suppression and to compare the damping effect with different adjustment of PID gains. With given experimental results are determined the best effectiveness of active structure.

AB  - Piezoelectric actuators and sensors have a wide range of application in the active vibration control of flexible
structures. Control performances of the smart structures depend on the size and position of piezoelectric actuators and
sensors on a smart structure. This paper deals with the optimization of sizing, location and orientation of piezoelectric
actuators-sensors pairs on thin-walled composite plate. Optimization criteria are based on eigenvalues of the
controllability Grammian matrix. The optimization problem is formulated by integration of finite element method based
on the third-order shear deformation theory and the particle swarm optimization method. Numerical examples are
provided for symmetric cross ply cantilever quadratic composite laminates. Linear quadratic regulator has been
implemented for active vibration control of the composite plates with the optimized piezoelectric actuator-sensor pairs
in order to show the efficiency of presented optimization method.

AB  - Improving aircraft pilot comfort requires continuous work in decreasing vibrations in the seat. In order to determine the suitability and potential of cockpit floor - seat connections we conducted an experiment where measurements were taken and seat vibration analysis conducted. Vibrations parameters were measured for maximum engine and propeller speed. This analysis indicates that passive vibrations damping or cockpit floor - seat connections functionality depends on flights profile and vibrations frequency. The connection in question was behaving like a vibration multiplier on the 3rd and 4th harmonic as well as on the 3,5 sub-harmonic in individual flight modes on basic propeller rotation frequency, however, it behaved as a vibration silencer on all other frequencies. Analysis of the experimental data has shown that it would be justified to start improving the self adaptive unit for active vibration reduction for pilot seats.

AB  - Piezoelektrični aktuatori se uveliko primenjuju za aktivno upravljanje vibracijama na raznim strukturama sa ciljem povećanja performansi sistema. Razvijeni sistem aktivnog upravljanja vibracijama se sastoji od aktivnije strukture, kontrolera i visokonaponskih pojačivača. U ovom radu, kompozitna greda predstavlja osnovnu strukturu za senzorsku (merne trake) i aktuatorsku (dvoslojni PZT piezoelektrični aktuator) platformu. U cilju unapređenja dinamičkih karakteristika aktivnog sistema vršena je promena koeficijenata PID regulatora. Efikasnost sistema aktivnog upravljanja vibracijama za posmatrani mod oscilovanja se može povećati promenom koeficijenata PID regulatora, ali u isto vreme moguće je narušiti stabilnost sistema. Nestabilnost sistema je najčešće uslovljena pojavom 'spillover' efekta. U ovom radu predstavljen je značaj 'spillover' efekta u zatvorenim petljama piezoelektričnih aktivnih struktura, kao i značaj promene koeficijenata PID regulatora na stabilnost sistema. Eksperimentalni rezultati sistema aktivnog prigušenja vibracija su predstavljeni u radu i daju jednu od mogućnosti za povećanje stabilnosti upravljanih struktura.
AB  - Piezoelectric actuators are widely used in structural systems for active vibration control with the aim to enhance the performance of systems. The developed system of active vibration control consists of active structure, controller and high voltage amplifier. In this paper, the composite beam is host structure for sensor platform (strain gages) and actuator platform (dual layer PZT piezoelectric actuator). In order to improve the dynamic characteristics of active system, the coefficients of PID controller are changed. The effectiveness of active vibration control system at mode of interest can be improved with change of PID coefficients, but the stability of system can be reduced. The instability of the active structure is often perturbed by spillover effect. In this paper the importance of considering spillover effects in closed loop of piezoelectric active structures is demonstrated and shown the importance of change the PID coefficients in stability of active vibration control system. Experimental results which correspond to the developed active vibration control system are presented and affirmed stability on proposed active structure.

AB  - U radu je opisan predlog unapređenja procesa obrazovanja studenata Vojne akademije za podršku procesa održavanja vazduhoplova Vojske Srbije zasnovan na uvođenju predmeta Ispitivanje vazduhoplova u letu. Pri tome je posebno naglašen značaj formiranja avionske laboratorije sa osnovnim karakteristikama ispitno-merne opreme koju je neophodno integrisati na avionu u cilju realizacije praktičnog dela ispitivanja vazduhoplova u letu. Formiranjem aviona laboratorije stvorio bi se veoma jak didaktički alat, koji bi omogućio optimalnu sintezu teorije i prakse. Ovakav koncept unapređenja edukativnog procesa bi u znatnoj meri uticao i na formiranje svesti o neophodnosti zajedničkog rada i objedinjavanja svih istraživačkih kapaciteta naučno- istraživačkih institucija u Ministarstvu Odbrane Republike Srbije.
AB  - This article describes a proposal to improve the educational process for the students of the Military Academy to support the maintenance of the Serbian Army aircraft based on the introduction of the subject called Aircraft Flight Tests. The article particularly emphasizes the importance of establishing aircraft laboratories with the basic characteristics of the test-measuring equipment necessary to be integrated into the aircraft in order to realise practical tests of an aircraft in flight. The formation of aircraft laboratories would form a very strong didactic tool which would provide an optimal synthesis of theory and practice. This concept of improving the educational process would substantially raise the awareness of the necessity of cooperation and involvement of all research capacities of the scientific institutions in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia.

AB  - Piezoelectric actuators are widely used in structural systems for active vibration
control with the aim to enhance the performance of systems. In order to improve the
dynamic characteristics of active system, it is necessary to know the changes in modal
parameters of systems after embedding of piezoelectric actuators. The effectiveness of
chosen piezoelectric actuator on real system is a very important characteristic in order to
determine capabilities of vibrations suppression. This paper presents two experimental
investigations whose aim is to define the input and output parameters for development of
active vibration control system. In the first experiment modal parameters of the thin
rectangular plate with embedding of piezoelectric actuator is determined. The dynamic
behavior of the thin rectangular plate is identified by using the strain gages (full bridge)
sensor. The second experiment is performed aiming to identify the voltage limits of the
controller’s output for the first three natural frequencies of the rectangular plate. The
determined parameters (natural frequencies and control voltage limits of piezoelectric
actuator) represent boundaries which must be satisfied in the process of development of the
active vibration control system.

AB  - This paper presents experimental verification of the active vibration control of a smart cantilever composite beam using a PID controller. In order to prevent negative occurrences in the derivative and integral terms in a PID controller, first-order low-pass filters are implemented in the derivative action and in the feedback of the integral action. The proposed application setup consists of a composite cantilever beam with a fiber-reinforced piezoelectric actuator and strain gage sensors. The beam is modeled using a finite element method based on third-order shear deformation theory. The experiment considers vibration control under periodic excitation and an initial static deflection. A control algorithm was implemented on a PIC32MX440F256H microcontroller. Experimental results corresponding to the proposed PID controller are compared with corresponding results using proportional (P) control, proportional-integral (PI) control and proportional-derivative (PD) control. Experimental results indicate that the proposed PID controller provides 8.93% more damping compared to a PD controller, 14.41% more damping compared to a PI controller and 19.04% more damping compared to a P controller in the case of vibration under periodic excitation. In the case of free vibration control, the proposed PID controller shows better performance (settling time 1.2 s) compared to the PD controller (settling time 1.5 s) and PI controller (settling time 2.5 s).

AB  - U radu je prezentovan praktičan primer merenja i analize vibracija na helikopterskoj strukturi sa ciljem da se otkriju potencijalna oštećenja radnih elemenata. Sveobuhvatna metodologija merenja vibracija je predstavljena u ovom članku i sprovedena sa ciljem da se utvrdi ispravan rad rotirajućih komponenata. Poseban osvrt je dat na analizi uzdužnih i vertikalnih vibracija trupa helikoptera u frekventnom domenu za različite profile leta. Merenje i analiza vibracija na određenim lokacijama helikopterske strukture, rezultiralo je blagovremenim tehničkim pregledom odgovarajuće komponente i otkrivanjem njenog površinskog oštećenja. Praktična upotreba predložene metodologije merenja i analize je moguće implementirati na više vrsta letelica u cilju produženja životnog veka.
AB  - A practical example of the measurement and analysis of vibrations on helicopter structures in order to detect defects on operating elements is presented in this paper. A comprehensive methodology of vibration testing is presented in this article and implemented in order to determine the correct operation of rotating components. A particular attention is given to the analysis of longitudinal and vertical vibrations on the helicopter fuselage in the frequency domain for different flight profiles. The vibration measurement and analysis on specific locations on a helicopter structure resulted in a timely technical review of a relevant component and a disclosure of the damage on its surface. The proposed methodology of measurement and analysis can be implemented on different types of aircraft in order to extend their life expectancy. .
