Experimental and numerical investigation of thermal improvement of window frames

AB  - This article presents experimental and numerical determinations of thermal transmittance performed on three different types of window frames (vinyl, aluminium, and wooden) within the same insulated glass unit. Good agreement between experimental and numerical results was attained. Using the numerical models, thermal improvement techniques of the frames and their influence on thermal transmittance of frames were studied. The first thermal improvement technique was using the insulation materials inserted inside large air cavities. By filling the cavity of vinyl frame with the polyurethane foam, thermal transmittance of vinyl frame was lowered by 10%. The second technique was based on repeating the procedure with materials installed inside frames with the materials that have lower thermal conductivity. This technique can be applied on thermal breaks and on steel profiles inside cavities. The result of this thermal improvement (attained by replacing thermal break material with material that has lower thermal conductivity) was certain reduction of the thermal transmittance of frames, by 9%. Using stainless steel instead of the oxidized steel was reduction of the thermal transmittance of vinyl frame by 3%. For the case of wooden frames the influence of shifting glazing unit deeper into profile upon the thermal transmittance of the frame was analyzed. Installing the glass unit by 5 mm deeper into the wooden frame reduced glass thermal transmittance by 5%.

Četvoroosni rotacioni pozicioner za zavarivanje

AB  - Četvoroosni rotacioni pozicioner za zavarivanje koristi se za pozicioniranje komada prilikom zavarivanja. Sastoji se od četiri rama, i to jednog spoljašnjeg nosećeg rama i tri radna rama. Prvi ram pozicionera kreće se vertikalno u oba smera unutar spoljašnjeg nosećeg rama, drugi ram pozicionera se obrtno kreće oko vertikalne ose unutar prvog rama, treći ram pozicionera kreće se obrtno oko horizontalne ose unutar drugog rama pozicionera. Komad koji se zavaruje postavlja se unutar trećeg rama pozicionera i kreće se obrtno oko njegove vertikalne ose. Sva kretanja se odvijaju u oba smera. Ramovi pozicionera se mogu kretati nezavisno jedan od drugog, a mogu se kretati i istovremeno. Kretanje radnih ramova pozicionera omogućava zavarivanje komada sa svih strana i iz svih uglova, i zahvaljujući tome komad se zavaruje u celini dok se nalazi na pozicioneru.

AB  - Nowadays people face challenges of rising energy consumption, energy costs,
environmental impacts, consequence of global warming etc. All trends are directed to reduce those
negative effects. In terms of energy consumption, the main goal of any production is to reduce
energy consumption per product unit. At the goat farm and dairy Beocapra, located in Kukojevci
in Serbia, energy was used for technological processes that include heating and cooling different
types of working mediums as well as for heating and cooling spaces of the dairy. In this article the
structure of used energy, energy quantities, temperature regimes and quantities of mediums and
power consumption of the biggest systems were presented. The measures for improving energy
efficiency and possibilities of using renewable energy sources for covering a part of energy
demands were proposed. At the end of the article benefits of using proposed renewable energy
sources were given.

AB  - The paper presents an exergy analysis of the groundwater heat pump operation for the needs of building heat-ing. The analysis was conducted on a monthly basis, given the dependence of exergy on the changing state of the envi-ronment. Changes in heating coefficient and exergy efficiency of the geothermal heat pump heating system depending on the influential parameters were analyzed: groundwater temperature from the pumping well, changes in the ground-water temperature on the heat pump evaporator and water temperature in the heating system. The obtained results provide insight into thermodynamic indicators of heat pump operation depending on the groundwater temperature and the operation mode of the building heating system. The conducted analysis provides guidelines for the design and optimization of heat pumps that work with groundwater as a heat source.

Thermodynamic Analysis of a Cascade Heat Pump Incorporated in High-Temperature Heating System

AB  - In this article is presented thermodynamic analysis of a cascade heat pump system designed for using in high-temperature heating systems The own thermodynamic model was built by using properties of working fluids from the Coo/Prop base. The cascade heat pump was designed to use ambient air as heat source with temperature t(amb )= -20 degrees C and for heating water in the high-temperature heating system up to 70 degrees C. The projected heating capacity of the cascade heat pump was 100 kW. The coefficient of performance (COP) of the cascade heat pump system due to use of different working mediums combinations in cycles of the cascade heat pump was investigated. For the best combination of working fluids (mediums) sub-cooling super-heating pressure loss in compressor's suction line, as well as exergy efficiency of the heat pump were analysed as a function of the temperature of the cascade heat exchanger.

AB  - Agricultural sector is of great importance to every society. It is also a great
energy consumer. Based on the relevant statistical data on the use of various energy
sources, it can be concluded that diesel is the most used fuel in Serbia today. It is used
to run the agricultural machineries. Therefore, a thermodynamic analysis of energy use
in the agricultural sector of Serbia was conducted considering the fuel consumption for
the ten-year period from 2008 to 2017. The paper presents an energy and exergy
analysis of the use of energy products for the needs of agricultural mechanization in
Serbia. A comparison was made with the available data from other countries.

AB  - Istraživanja u okviru ove doktorske disertacije posvećena su izučavanju problema prostiranja toplote u podzemnom vodonosnom sloju, tokom jednogodišnjeg rada otvorenog sistema geotermalne toplotne pumpe (GTP), kako pri kontinualnom, tako i pri cikličnom, radnom režimu, kao i njihovoj uporednoj analizi. AB  - Research in the framework of the doctoral dissertation is devoted to the study of the heat transfer in the underground aquifer during the one-year operation of the open-loop ground source heat pump system (GSHP), both in the continuous and cyclical working regime, as well as in their comparative analysis. The research was carried out using numerical modelling. The newly formed numerical-mathematical model includes effects whose influence on the aquifer temperature field has not been studied in detail until now: three-dimensional development of the temperature field, the velocity of underground water flows, and the influence of the layered aquifer heterogeneity. At the same time, the numerical model also includes the influence of the distance between the wells, as well as the position of the return well relative to the pumping well - downstream or upstream...

AB  - This paper presents the analysis of the impact of basic geometric parameters - pipe diameter and the spacing between the pipes, and technological parameters - volumetric flow and heating water inlet temperature, on a temperature field on the wall heating panel surfaces, formed during the steady conditions. The analysis was conducted by using the Mikheev's criterion equation, which describes the process of convection heat transfer from the heating fluid to the inner surface of the pipe, and Faxen-Rydberg-Huber expression, which describes the two-dimensional temperature field in the wall, with series of embedded heated pipes having uniform temperature. The quality of obtained theoretical results was checked experimentally, by measurements conducted using thermal imaging camera. Based on the analysis of the obtained results, and depending on the impact they have on the increase of the panel surface average temperature, the ranking of analyzed parameters was performed.

AB  - This paper presents experimental verification of the accuracy and acceptability of Faxen-Rydberg-Huber analytical expression for determining thermal characteristics of the heating panels. The verification of accuracy of the Faxen-Rydberg-Huber expression, which describes the 2-D temperature field in the wall with series of embedded heated pipes having uniform temperature, was performed by comparing the temperatures on the surface of three types of heating wall panels, differing in structure and geometric characteristics. The analysis of results has shown high accuracy of Faxen-Rydberg-Huber expression in describing the temperature field. Also, it was noted that small changes in heating fluid temperature, occurring along the pipe in the heated panel, have a negligible influence on the accuracy of prediction by the expression. This confirmed that the Faxen-Rydberg-Huber expression can be used to describe the temperature field in the wall heating panels. At the same time, this expression has proven to be extremely sensitive primarily to thermophysical characteristics of the panel layers, as well as to the geometric parameters of the panels.

AB  - Termodinamička analiza rada monovalentnog sistema geotermalne toplotne pumpe tipa voda-voda izvršena je sa aspekta praćenja promene njenog koeficijenta grejanja i efektivnog koeficijenta grejanja, a u zavisnosti od promene temperature grejne vode u grejnim telima, temperature vode u crpnom bunaru, te promene temperature bunarske vode na isparivaču toplotne pumpe. Ekonomska analiza geotermalne toplotne pumpe izvršena je poređenjem sa grejnim sistemom sa gasnim kotlom. Ustanovljena je ekonomska zavisnost isplativosti sistema od dubine bunara i cene bušenja bunara.
AB  - Thermodynamic work analysis of monovalent system of groundwater source heat pump was performed from the aspect of monitoring changes in its coefficient of performance and the effective coefficient of performance, depending on a change of temperature of the heating water in the heating elements, water temperature in pumping well, and a change in temperature of water from a well in the evaporator of the heat pump. Economic analysis of the geothermal heat pump was compared with the heating system with a gas boiler. The economic cost effectiveness of the system, depending on the depth of the wells and the cost of drilling the well, was established.

AB  - Predajnici toplote su jedan od najšire primenjivanih uređaja u procesnoj tehnici i termotehnici. Oni se tradicionalno projektuju tako da svojom konstrukcijom obezbede zahtevani toplotni protok sa grejnog na grejani fluid, pri čemu se potpuno zanemaruju gubici radnih sposobnosti ovih fluida. Radi toga, u ovom radu je prikazana detaljna analiza rada suprotosmernih predajnika toplote sa stanovišta Drugog principa termodinamike. Radi lakše matematičke iterperetacije, uzeto je da oba radna fluida imaju termofizička svojstva idealnih gasova i da su predajnici toplote dobošastog tipa. Pokazano je, da se smanjenje gubitaka radne sposobnosti, osim izjednačavanjem toplotnih kapaciteta fluidnih tokova, može ostvariti i pravilnim izborom geometrijskih parametara predajnika toplote.

AB  - Za potrebe pravilnog projektovanja sistema geotermalne toplotne pumpe, koji koristi zemljište za skladištenje toplote, potrebno je znati tačne vrednosti toplotne provodljivosti i toplotne difuzivnosti zemljišta. Nakon pregleda najčešće korišćenih eksperimentalnih postupaka, zaključeno je da je test toplotnog odziva odgovarajući metod za određivanje ovih parametara. Analiza je sprovedena za uobičajene metode redukcije podataka, od kojih je preporučena metoda određivanja nagiba, kao jednostavna i tačna. Definisana je nova procedura testiranja i dat je novi idejni projekat mobilne aparature za merenja na licu mesta za potrebe određivanja toplotne provodljivosti zemljišta na području Balkana.

AB  - U ovom radu predstavljena je analiza savremenog alternativnog izvora energije u vidu podzemnog skladišta toplote. Analizirani su različiti oblici ovih skladišta i ustanovljeno je da sistemi koji koriste zemljište ili podzemni vodonosni sloj za skladištenje toplote imaju najveći stepen energijske efikasnosti. Odluka o tome koji od ova dva sistema koristiti zavisi od hidrogeoloških karakteristika tla. Zbog toga je napravljena analiza tla u području dvomilionskog grada na Balkanu. Zaključeno je da u većem delu tog grada, kao i u celokupnoj oblasti brdsko-planinskog centralnog Balkana, sistem koji toplotu skladišti u zemljištu putem geotermalnih bušotina ima prednost u odnosu na sistem koji koristi podzemni vodonosni sloj za skladištenje. Za dimenzionisanje geotermalne bušotine potrebno je poznavati toplotnu provodljivost i toplotnu difuzivnost zemljišta. Predloženo je određivanje toplotne provodljivosti zemljišta eksperimentalnim putem, pomoću testa toplotnog odziva. Analazirane su glavne metode rada testa, jer treba očekivati da će test toplotnog odziva, sa mobilnom aparaturom za merenja na licu mesta, uskoro postati standardna procedura za određivanje termofizičkih karakteristika tla na području Balkana.

AB  - Ovaj rad predstavlja procenu isplativosti sistema geotermalne toplotne pumpe kao alternativnog grejnog sistema savremenih i dobro izolovanih stambenih objekata. Uporedna analiza je sprovedena na primeru jedno-porodične dobro izolovane kuće, sa nisko-temperaturnom grejnom instalacijom. Ulaganja u geotermalne toplotne pumpe su neuporedivo veća nego u grejne podstanice koje koriste fosilna goriva – preko četiri puta su veća u odnosu na podstanice na prirodni gas i preko tri puta veća u odnosu na one na ulje za loženje. Sa druge strane, operativni troškovi su veoma niski, npr. pet puta su manji nego kod podstanica na ulje za loženje. Uzimajući u razmatranja ukupnu cenu grejnog sistema, koju čine investiciona ulaganja, održavanje i operativni troškovi, kao i stanje na kreditnom tržištu, analizom je zaključeno da je sistem sa geotermalnom toplotnom pumpom ekonomski uporediv sa većinom konvencionalnih grejnih sistema.
