AB - In this paper we present a simple and unified approach to the fixed point results on cone symmetric spaces and metric type spaces based on symmetric spaces fixed point theory. We also give a new characterization of semi-metric spaces with open balls.

AB - Recently, Du [W.-S. Du, A note on cone metric fixed point theory and its equivalence, Nonlinear Anal. (2009), doi:10.1016/j.na.2009.10.026] introduced the notion of TVS-cone metric space. In this paper we present fixed point theorem for nonlinear quasi-contractive mappings defined on TVS-cone metric space, which generalizes earlier results obtained by Ilic and Rakocevic [D. Ilic, V. Rakocevic, Quasi-contractions on a cone metric space, Appl. Math. Lett. 22 (2009) 728-731] and Kadelburg, Radenovic and Rakocevic [Z. Kadelburg, S. Radenovic, V. Rakocevic, Remarks on quasi-contractions on a cone metric space, Appl. Math. Lett. 22 (2009) 1674-1679].

A counterexample on a theorem by Khojasteh, Goodarzi, and Razani

AB - In the paper by Khojasteh et al. (2010), the authors tried to generalize Branciari's theorem, introducing the new integral type contraction mappings. In this note we give a counterexample on their main statement (Theorem 2.9). Also we give a comment explaining what the mistake in the proof is, and suggesting what conditions might be appropriate in generalizing fixed point results to cone spaces, where the cone is taken from the infinite dimensional space.
