Mogućnost primene pirofilita kao punioca u vatrostalnim premazima

AB  - U radu su istraživani postupci pripreme punioca na bazi pirofilita za dobijanje vatrostalnih premaza
sa kontrolisanim reološkim svojstvima. Polazni uzorci pirofilita dobijeni su iz ležišta Parsović-BiH.
Istraživan je uticaj procesa mikronizirajućeg mlevenja na promenu svojstava vatrostalnog punioca,
promenu veličine i oblika zrna punioca, disperznost i stabilnost suspenzije premaza. Za
karakterizaciju dobijenih punioca korišćene su metode XRD, SEM i optička mikroskopija. U drugoj
fazi istraživanja punioci su podvrgnuti procesu mikronizirajućeg mlevenja u mlinu sa keramičkim
kuglama. Gornja granica krupnoće ulaznog materijala bila je 100% -2,00 mm. Vremena
mikronizirajućeg mlevenja (min): 15; 20;25. Cilj je bio optimizacija svojstava punioca na bazi
pirofilita, definisanje sastava premaza i postupaka njihove izrade. Kvalitet dobijenih premaza
kontrolisan je u skladu sa standardom za ovu vrstu vatrostalnih proizvoda

AB  - U radu je istraživano dobijanje vatrostalnih punioca na bazi različitih mineralnih sirovina, a pre svega pirofilita, mulita, kordijerita i cirkona. U cilju dobijanja vatrostalnih punioca visokih svojstava i primene u sintezi novih oblikovanih i neoblikovanih vatrostalnih materijala, vršena su sistematična istraživanja procesa pripreme mineralnih sirovina postupcima prečišćavanja, mlevenja i mehaničke aktivacije. Mlevenje i mehanička aktivacija punioca vršena je u visokoenergetskim mlinovima sa polazne veličine zrna 100μm do veličine zrna 15μm. Posebna pažnja tokom istraživanja posvećena je ispitivanju uticaja mehaničke akrivacije punioca na reološka svojstva dobijenih vatrostalnih premaza za primenu u livarstvu. Karakterizacija dobijenih punioca vršena je primenom rendgenske difrakcione analize i skenirajuće elektronske mikroskopije, a kvalitativna mineraloška analiza i analiza oblika i veličine zrna punioca urađena je pod polarizacionim mikroskopom primenom imerzione metode i kompjuterskog programskog paketa Ozaria 2.5. Rezultati ispitivanja mogućnosti primene dobijenih vatrostalnih punioca za izradu livačkih premaza pokazali su da je veličina zrna punioca 15-20μm optimalana za postizanje zadovoljavajuće reologije primene premaza. Zadovoljavajuća svojstva premaza postignuta su primenom optimalnih sastava premaza i procesa njihove izrade.

AB  - Mikrolegirani čelici se primenjuju za izradu različitih elemenata opreme u metalurgiji i rudarstvu. Zbog zahteva koje oprema treba da ispuni i sigurnosti koju treba da obezbedi, vrše se različita ispitivanja ove vrste konstrukcionih materijala.U radu je ispitivano ponašanje mikrolegiranog čelika S355M u uslovima dejstva kavitacije. Za ispitivanje je primenjena ultrazvučna vibraciona metoda sa stacionarnim uzorkom. Praćena je promena mase uzoraka u funkciji vremena dejstva kavitacije.Morfologija oštećenja površine analizirana je primenom skenirajuće elektronske mikroskopije.UtvrĎen je mehanizam nastajanja i razvoja oštećenja površine uzoraka pod dejstvom kavitacije.Procenjena je mogućnost primene ove vrste materijala u rigoroznim uslovima eksploatacije koji su prisutni u metalurškim procesima.

AB  - Mikronizacija pirofilita je veliki tehnološko-tehnički problem, iz razloga što klasične mašine za usitnjavanje ne mogu svojim procesnim uslovima da ga mikroniziraju do finog i posebno veoma finog granulometrijskog sastava, koji je neophodan za nove savremene domene industrijske primene. Iz ovih razloga, neophodno je dobro poznavaje njihovih fizičko-hemijskih, mineraloških, mehaničkih osobina, i posebno mehanizma procesa njihovog finog usitnjavanja (mikronizacije). Detaljnim istraživajima kinetike mikronizirajućeg mlevenja pirofilita, dobijeni su elementi za određivanje efikasnosti rada vibracionih i ultra-centrifugalnih mlinova, a samim tim stečeni su uslovi za definisanje kako tehnoloških parametara mikronizacije, tako i parametara proizvodnje mikronizacije. U isto vreme, na osnovu detaljne fizičko-hemijske, mineraloške i rentgenske karakterizacije mikroniziranih proizvoda pirofilita, uočene su određene fizičko-hemijske promene u njihovoj strukturi (prelaz pirofilita u amorfno stanje), što je sigurno posledica rada pomenutih mlinova.

AB  - The paper presents the results of the investigation of the cavitation resistance of refractory materials based on basalt, mullite, cordierite, zircon and chromite for the production of parts of equipment in metallurgy and mining. The experiment was conducted using ultrasound vibration method according to ASTM G-32 standard. During the determination of the resistance to the effect of cavitation, a change in mass of the sample was observed as a function of the time of the cavitation. The morphology of damage caused by the effect of cavitation was followed by scanning with an electron microscope, and the level of degradation of the surface of the samples was quantified using the image analysis.

AB  - For the development of the Lost Foam refractory coatings with controlled rheologic properties, the influence of the mechanical activation process on the cordierite-based filler's properties change was examined. First of all, the test referred to the change offiller particles' size and shape, as well as to dispersion ability and stability of the coating suspension. Cordierite was obtained by synthesis in a solid state, out of the mass consisting of kaoline, alumina, quartz, sepiolite. For characterization purposes, the following methods were used: X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, SEM and optical microscopy. Mechanical activation of filler was performed in a vibrating mill. The upper boundary of the grain size was 100% -30 x 10-6 m, the times were (min): 15; 30; 60. The new composition of Lost foam refractory coatings has been developed with a change of the coating production process, as well. These newly synthesized coatings proved to be effective in terms of a positive influence on a surface quality, structural and mechanical properties of aluminium castings. Test results may be useful to have the Lost Foam refractory coatings specified together with other process parameters used for the production of castings according to this casting method.

AB  - This paper analyzes the formation of cavitation damages depending on the technology of
fabrication, structure and properties of basalt from the Vrelo-Kopaonik deposit. The methodology for
monitoring the level of damage caused by cavitation and estimation the material life span base on
parameters was developed: change in the mass loss, measurement the degradation level of the sample
surface, dynamics of the formation ofpits, changes in their average area surface, determination the line
profile. A change in the surface morphology with the test time was followed by a scanning electron
microscopy. The level of surface degradation of samples was quantified using the image analysis. The
results indicate that the cast basalt has a high degree of cavitation resistance.

AB  - This study presents the results of an investigation of high-temperature materials – refractory filler based on cordierite, mullite and zircon for the synthesis of new refractory pattern coating and application in foundry. In order to obtain better properties of refractory fillers, special attention in the research was devoted to the preparation of fillers by grinding and mechanical activation. The application of the fillers for the synthesis of refractory pattern coatings and use in the new EPC casting process for obtained aluminium  alloys and steel casting was shown positive results.

AB  - Rapid technological development in past few decades led to formation of a certain group of ceramic materials which are often referred to as “coating agents”. This term is rather descriptive because materials that belong to this group show varieties in its shape and appearance. Coatings are disperse systems, and their mutual component is a binding agent or binder which  can be organic or inorganic. Treatment of the filler particles surfaces by means of micronizing milling is conducted with an aim to improve the filler properties which are employed during their application in coatings. This technology was applied on the carbonates first and later on other types of materials. Basic criteria which carbonate fillers have to fulfill in order to give a quality coating are: particle size, shape of micronized particle, hardness, density, color, abrasiveness, breaking index, chemical composition, whiteness level, consistency (chemical and time-relevant), etc. A certain type of filler can not have all criteria fulfilled, therefore its application is being chosen after knowing the filler properties. The grain size composition plays an important role in choosing of a fillers application. Regarding granulometry, i.e. mean particle diameter fillers can be categorized as: 1) micronized fillers (<10 μm); 2) fine powder (10 – 50 μm); 3) average fine powder (50 – 250 μm); 4) coarse powder (>250 μm). Calcium carbonate fillers applied in coating systems can contain particles sizing from extremely fine (parts of μm) to coarse (above 250 μm). However, this is not the only criterion, since the covering ability in the thin layer depends of the light refractive index, binder, etc. The researching in area of application, development and manufacturing of carbonate fillers is disclosed. The development of devices and procedures for micrionizing milling and mechano-chemical activation is an actual theme; therefore the collaboration between manufacturers of coatings and carbonate fillers is of utter importance. Mutual collaboration will contribute to the development of new technical and technological procedures and reaching of the global standards of quality in production of the carbonate fillers for application in coatings.

AB  - Natural carbonate fillers are amongst most important and most economical inorganic fillers. These fillers are being widely applied in civil engineering, road bases, and various industrial braches such as industry of colors and lacquers, polymers, paper, abrasives, pesticides, electrodes, pharmaceuticals, etc.  During previous twenty years, a significant technological advancement has been performed on global level which further enabled and widened carbonate fillers application. In Serbia, the production of high quality fillers is not fully established; therefore consumers are orientated on imported raw materials which originate from the countries that produce super-fine and ultra-fine carbonate qualities. However, the production possibilities are not only modern technology related; they are based on starting raw material of adequate quality. Production and application of natural carbonate fillers are targeted by manufacturers of modern micronizing milling equipment, which can be seen in their constant attempts to obtain higher quality of carbonate fillers that are applied in various industrial branches. Micronized non-metallic mineral raw materials are already replaced variety of other mineral fillers which are found in insufficient quantities in nature and whose manufacturing technology is by far more complex and therefore much more expensive.  The most important advantage of carbonates is in their prevalence in superficial parts of Earth crust, quantity of rock masses, easy processing and micronizing. Natural carbonate fillers, due to new processing techniques such is micronizing milling, represent good and inexpensive aternative for the other micronized natural inorganica materials. With its fineness and whiteness some of the products that belong to the natural calcium carbonates (CaCO3) group can compete with chemically precipitated calcium carbonates. Micronized natural carbonate fillers represent an important addition in technological processing and their final goal is to shape the properties of the final product. In many cases, regarding the carbonate filler quantity in a final product, they might as well be treated as a basic component.

In Serbia, the production of high quality fillers is not fully established; therefore consumers are orientated on imported raw materials which originate from the countries that produce super-fine and ultra-fine carbonate qualities. However, the production possibilities are not only modern technology related; they are based on starting raw material of adequate quality. Production and application of natural carbonate fillers are targeted by manufacturers of modern micronizing milling equipment, which can be seen in their constant attempts to obtain higher quality of carbonate fillers that are applied in various industrial branches. Micronized non-metallic mineral raw materials are already replaced variety of other mineral fillers which are found in insufficient quantities in nature and whose manufacturing technology is by far more complex and therefore much more expensive.  The most important advantage of carbonates is in their prevalence in superficial parts of Earth crust, quantity of rock masses, easy processing and micronizing. Natural carbonate fillers, due to new processing techniques such is micronizing milling, represent good and inexpensive aternative for the other micronized natural inorganica materials. With its fineness and whiteness some of the products that belong to the natural calcium carbonates (CaCO3) group can compete with chemically precipitated calcium carbonates. Micronized natural carbonate fillers represent an important addition in technological processing and their final goal is to shape the properties of the final product. In many cases, regarding the carbonate filler quantity in a final product, they might as well be treated as a basic component.",

The influence of mechanical activation of ceramic fillers on the quality of the refractory coatings

AB  - In this paper, results of the investigation of the influence of mechanical activation of ceramic fillers (talc, cordierite, alumina and mica) on the quality of refractory coats for casting application are presented. It is shown that additional fine grinding of the ceramic fillers influences increasing of the quality of refractory coats. Grinding and activation of the particles with various granulations contributes to the creation of the homogenous and continuous layer of refractory coat on the sand moulds and cores, as well as on the evaporating patterns for application in the EPC casting process. Refractory coats obtained by means of the activation of particles procedure have better adherence to mould, cores and evaporating patterns.
