dc.description.abstractThis paper shows how modification of one of most widely used simultaneous engineering methods - method of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis - FMEA, which has been widely applied in other areas, can be used as a link between numerical simulation and experimental activities throughout design and development process. Starting from the basic characteristics of element failure and system functional structure failure, modified FMEA method determines the connection between element failure and system failure, bad functioning, work limits and degradation of work features or the system as a whole. This is illustrated by the example of bus superstructure development and testing, of mathematical model design and experimental construction testing in laboratory conditions, as observed from the aspect of maintenance cost.en
