The proposed model is for heat and mass transfer inside a layer of moist material placed on hot isothermal surface. The relevant thermophysical properties of the material are considered as fully dependent on local temperature and moisture content during the process. The model is solved numerically and the resulting temperature and moisture distributions inside the material are compared to the results obtained by solving the model with constant thermophysical coefficients in the governing equations, as well as to the experimental results acquired for the same material, initial, and boundary conditions.
