dc.description.abstract | The Republic of Serbia has more than 2.2 millions of buildings built before 2011. when the Rulebook on energy efficiency of buildings was adopted. Which further implies that more than 289 millions of square meters of dwellings in Serbia have lower thermal envelop properties than it is recommended and thus much higher energy consumption for heating than it is the case in new buildings. This makes an opportunity for deep building renovation of Serbian building stock and potential energy savings. In this manner, it is possible to save up to 6.7610^9 kWh/a of energy for heating yearly just by the renovation of the existing building stock built in a period from 1971-1980. If this calculation is extended to all Serbian dwellings, it is possible to save up to 2.68*10^10 kWh/a of final energy for heating yearly. Similarly, CO2 emission reduction for the existing buildings can be accomplished up to 40% just by the refurbishment of the building envelope. | sr |
