The code 3D ANA was developed for the numerical simulations and analyses of complex multiphase flow conditions in energy equipment. The code is based on the two-fluid model and the porous media approach, which enable calculation of both liquid and vapour velocity fields, void fraction distribution and two-phase mixture pressure field. The code is applied to the vertical steam generator thermal-hydraulic simulation. The highly non-uniform spatial heat transfer rate between the hot and cold parts of the U-tube bundle leads to the complex two-phase flow conditions. Steam void fraction and phases’ velocity fields are strongly spatially dependent, providing complex dependence with the primary to secondary heat transfer rates and hydraulic conditions that could induce hydraulic vibrations of the tubes. Achieved numerical results were compared with experimental data and very good agreement is obtained.sr
