The paper examines the cavitation resistance of glass-ceramics samples based on basalt from the Vrelo Kopaonik deposit. The experiment was conducted using an ultrasonic vibration method (with the stationary sample) according to the ASTM G-32 standard. Test samples were obtained by melting, casting and thermal treatment of the raw basalt rocks. For the evaluation of cavitation resistance, a change in the mass of the sample in the function of time was monitored. The level of degradation of sample surface was quantified using the image analysis. The change in the morphology of the sample surface with the test time was followed by scanning electron microscopy. The results showed a high degree of cavitation resistance of glass-ceramic samples based on basalt, which indicates the possibility of their application for the production of parts of equipment in metallurgy.sr
