In the first stage of modeling the nonlinear model of metal strips cold rolling was developed: The problem is treated as the process with the lumped parameters and unavoidable transport lag. In the second atage of modeling, the linearized model was developed suitable for analysis and control synthesis. The main results concerning finite time stability is given in the last part of the paper.
