dc.description.abstractThe revitalization of HPP Đerdap 1 aimed at increasing the total installed power of the hydropower plant with the achievement of the increased energy efficiency of the aggregates. The developmental model tests carried out by the equipment supplier enhanced the constructive elements of revitalized Kaplan turbines in relation to existing turbines that had been in long-term exploitation. The results of that test, but also warranted and acceptance-comparative model tests in highly-qualified laboratories for hydraulic turbines, confirmed the improvement of energy parameters. Recalculated results of model tests were used to determine optimal prototype operating parameters, i.e. preliminary determination of optimal combinatory dependence upon which the revitalized turbine will be exploited. After the retrofitting and installation of the prototype with a new runner as well as precommisioning and acceptance tests on turbine equipment and governing systems, index tests of the revitalized Kaplan turbine were performed. The index tests were carried out at three net drops with the aim of checking combinatory relations. By analyzing measuring results, final corrections were made to these relations in order to detemine new optimal ones, thus confirming warranty turbine parameters. The methodology of the performed Kaplan turbine index tests and the analysis of the obtained results are given in the paper. Comparative analyses of the previously implemented and newly established combinatory dependences and the conclusions reached show the usefulness of the index tests on revitalized double-regulated hydraulic turbines in order to optimize their operation, as well as to increase the energy efficiency of the entire hydropower plant.sr
