dc.description.abstractNumerical investigation of the flow structure and computations of drag force around Generic Conventional Model (GCM) of tractor-trailer is analyzed in this paper. Starting from original GCM, three additional changes on geometry have been made, and external air flow around all the models has been simulated for four different cruising speeds in open road conditions. OpenFOAM, an open-source CFD software has been used in that purpose, with RANS approach and k-ω SST model. Results shows reductions in the drag from 17-26% in comparison to the drag of the original model. Obtained results on drag reduction and drag coefficients are in agreement with the results from other authors on similar models of tractor-trailer.sr
