Application of numerical methods in design and analysis of heart valve prostheses mechanical behaviour
Апстракт
In this paper the analysis of existing design of mechanical heart valves is presented, as well as the
application of advanced numerical methods, primarily the finite element method for the design and analysis of these implants. A heart valve model was designed using CAD software. Further numerical analysis was performed using finite element method. For the analysis of this model, pyrolytic carbon was the selected material. Load cases of valve leaves and ring were analyzed, and relevant results were presented. It is shown that the results obtained by numerical methods can be a good starting ground for the design analysis of biomedical implants, but that it is necessary to perform further development of the model.
