Starting from the latest European design of the HCPB blanket for the DEMO a test blanket module for ITER has been deduced. The paper describes the new design and presents the rational of the design choices and the results of the performance analyses. The proposed design achieves the requirements imposed by the ITER loading conditions, and fulfils the additional requirements (i.e. temperature in helium and materials) necessary to perform the testing of the component in ITER.
