Industrial robots are promising cost-effective and flexible alternative for certain multiaxis milling applications. This paper describes the concept of machining robot for complex parts of light materials with lower tolerances. For the experimental configuration of a 5-axis machining robot, the modeling approach and prototype of developed low-cost control system with programming in G-code are shown. The experimental prototype of control and programming system has been verified by successful machining of several test work pieces.
