S obzirom da biomasa predstavlja obnovljivi vid energije, a da je cena električne energije kao i fosilnih goriva sve veća, došlo je do povećane zainteresovanosti za izradu i nabavku opreme za proizvodnju peleta. Agrarni ostaci su gorivo male gustine, zbog čega je potrebno izvršiti njihovu prethodnu pripremu za peletiranje, a zatim peletiranje pripremljenih ostataka u pelete standardnih karakteristika. Tako pripremljene pelete bi se za sagorevale u toplovodnim kotlovima manjeg kapaciteta, za zagrevanje većih seoskih domaćinstava, manjih farmi ili staklenika. Da bi se izvršila priprema i peletiranje biomase, razvijena je i izrađena seckalica i peletirka, a sam projekt je finansiralo Ministarstvo za nauku, tehnologije i razvoj Republike Srbije.
Considering that biomass is a renewable energy source, the increase in prices of both electric power and fossil fuels resulted in the growing interest in development and purchase of equipment for biomass pellets production. Since agricultural production waste is a low density fuel, it is necessary to undertake the appropriate preliminary preparation and then make the prepared mass in pellets which have standard properties. Such prepared pellets would be used for combustion in small capacity hot-water boilers for heating big rural households, small farms and greenhouses. For the purpose of biomass preparing and palletizing, the chopper and palletizing devices were developed and produced while the project was financed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Development.
