Konceptualizacija stanja pomoću elemenata sheme PUTANJE u engleskom i srpskom jeziku
Apstrakt
Experience with motion on a path serves as the basis of the conceptualization of numerous abstract domains. Relying on the theoretical and methodological framework of cognitive
linguistics in this paper we deal with the conceptualization of state via some of the components
of the path schema (departing, passing, arriving and the space in which the motion takes place
and that is traversed by the trajector) in English and Serbian. It is shown that the conceptualization of statein both languages is twofold, i.e. states are experienced both as moving entities
and as the landmarks on the path of the moving agent. The aspects of state structured in this
way are its occurrence, its ending, intensity and change.
