In this paper is presented design and energy efficiency characteristics of one passive house designed for the location Mladenovac, Serbia. The whole simulation is conducted in the Passive house planning package (PHPP), ver. 1.0, made by the Passivehaus Institut, Darmstadt, Germany. It is a family residential house with the ground and the first floor. Windows are mainly South oriented. All systems are carefully chosen. Mechanical ventilation with the heat recovery system (MVHR) is chosen and its effective heat recovery efficiency is 87.2%. Primary energy requirement for the passive house is 120 kWh/(m(2)year) and obtained value is 88.7 kWh/(m(2)year), which is significantly lower.
