Numerical simulation of fatigue crack growth in welded pipes
Апстракт
Numerical simulation of fatigue crack growth has been performed by using the extended finite element method (xFEM) for modeling fatigue crack growth in a pipe made of API j55 steel by high-frequency welding. The obtained numerical results prove the efficiency of xFEM in the simulation of fatigue crack growth in cylindrical pipe geometry. Comments for improving the xFEM application for fatigue life predictions are also given.
