Calculation of electric locomotive axles and their reliability in exploitation at high rate of skidding
Апстракт
In this paper are given the most usual principles, which are the traditional approach at the same time, for electric locomotive driving axle design. The design has a great importance not only for Yugoslav Railways but also for many other railway authorities and vehicle constructors. The surveys of applied materials and machining procedures for axle assembly manufacturing are given. Considering the occurrence of torsion cracks and fractures, it is identified that both are caused by the torsion oscillations at long wheel skidding time. When such problems can be expected in service, the failure avoiding possibility by applying an anti skid device is emphasized in this paper. The solution is based upon restricting the wheel skidding time. If the acceptable results can not be obtained by anti skid device the changes in transmission between electro motor and driving axle are suggested (hollow axle, Jacquemee solution). The leads for detailed driving axle skidding time calculation literature ...are also given in this paper.
