dc.description.abstract	Numerical and experimental investigation of cooling rates in spherical casting (rolling balls made of white alloyed iron) was performed. Temperature history was determined by measurement, using thermocouples (Pt-Pt/Rh), and by the finite element method, applied to the nonlinear transient partial differential equation with moving boundaries, including phase and state changes. The obtained results shown good agreement.	en
