Numerical and experimental investigation of cooling rates in a spherical casting
Апстракт
Numerical and experimental investigation of cooling rates in spherical casting (rolling balls made of white alloyed iron) was performed. Temperature history was determined by measurement, using thermocouples (Pt-Pt/Rh), and by the finite element method, applied to the nonlinear transient partial differential equation with moving boundaries, including phase and state changes. The obtained results shown good agreement.
