AB - The problem considered in this paper is the welding technology of the steel assembly of a firefighter truck rear bridge semi-housing. Since in this procedure the welding is done of the two dissimilar steels, it is necessary to analyze effects of welding on mechanical properties and microstructure of individual joint's zones. The weldability of the base metal was considered first (semi-housing tube and flange), then the welding method and the filler metal were selected and, finally, the technological parameters of welding were calculated. The computational and experimental methods were used for the base metal weldability estimate, based on the hardness measurements in the joint's critical zones and analysis of their structures. Experimental investigations performed were aimed for verification and/or eventual correction of the proposed welding technology.

AB - This paper presents an experimental and numerical study into the influence of elevated temperatures on mechanical properties of the heat treated high quality hot work tool steel H11. This steel belongs to a group of alloyed steels with extraordinary mechanical properties. The aim of this study was to determine the highest temperature at which these properties are still maintained. The experimental investigation focused on the tensile testing of specimens at seven different temperatures, including the room temperature. The highest testing temperature was 700 degrees C. The heat treatment of plates (specimens) consisted of quenching and tempering. Although the strain hardening of this type of materials is small, the strain hardening curves were calculated to show if there was a possibility for the material to increase its strength due to exploitation loads. Also, a numerical analysis of the tensile test by using the finite element method was done in order to define an appropriate model for numerical testing. The obtained results are then compared with the experimental results.

AB - One of the important tasks of evaluating the integrity of mechanical process elements and structures is to determine the local mechanical properties. In this paper, experimental and numerical analyses of the mechanical behavior of an output inter-heater tube, made of 12H1MF heat-resistant steel, was performed after 200,000 h of exploitation. During exploitation, the tube was exposed to various mechanisms of damage including gas corrosion. The tube was cut from a pipe system during reparations of a thermal power plant, and then cold-deformed by bending to obtain a U-bend tube, which was then used in the experiment. For this purpose, a specimen holder made of structural steel S235 was specifically designed to test such a sample. The U-bend tube was then exposed to the external compressive load during the experiment. Experimental research was based on the application of the 3D digital image correlation (DIC), while a finite element method (FEM) was applied in numerical simulation performed by using the Abaqus software package. The 3D DIC is an optical and contactless experimental method that allows measurements of displacement fields and deformations of geometrically complex structures. The Aramis system was used for the experimental analysis as well as for verification of the numerical model. During the experiment, the von Mises strain field was measured at the top of the U-bend tube, in the tightening zone, as it represents a critical place for crack initiation and propagation during the work of an inter-heater. Based on the obtained results and a comparative analysis of experimental and numerical values of the von Mises strain field at the U-bend tube, deviation of the model predictions of about 18 % was determined. The FEM predicted smaller values of the von Mises strain field compared to the DIC method. This is the result of an incomplete geometry applied in the model due to deformation that occurred in the bend zone of the U-bend tube, loss of material and the tube surface damage due to the influence of gas corrosion during 200,000 h of exploitation. Experimental analysis has confirmed that the U-bend tube, after 200,000 h of exploitation, can remain in service even if it is damaged due to the effect of gas corrosion.

AB - In this study, two erosion protection MMC coatings with WC particles were deposited by the plasma transferred arc (PTA) welding. One of the coatings with tungsten carbide WC in the NiBSi matrix (WC/NiBSi), and the second coating WC in NiCrBSi matrix (WC/NiCrBSi) was deposited by the flame spray process on the same substrate material S235JR steel. Experiments were performed using a gas blast sand erosion test facility with high-velocity erodent particles impact (approximately 100 m/s) at different particle impact angles (20 degrees-45 degrees), with an objective to study erosion wear characteristics and mass loss of two MMC coatings. Microstructural characterization of MMC coatings was done by scanning electron microscope equipped with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, whereas X-ray diffraction analysis was used for identification of present phases. The hardness of coatings was determined by Vickers hardness measurements. WC/NiBSi obtained by the PTA process shows superior hardness and erosion properties.

AB - In this research the 3-D transient non-linear thermal analysis of the hard-facing process was performed by using the experimental testing and finite element method. Testing was done at three different carbon steels and the obtained results were compared to one obtained by empirical formulas and welding recommendations. Experimental testing was done on hard faced specimens (plates) with different thickness. Temperatures and temperature cycles was measured by using thermocouples in order to determine maximal temperature and cooling time between 800 degrees C and 500 degrees C. After experimental testing the finite element method analysis was done. The simulations were executed on the open source platform Salome using the open source finite element solver Code Aster. The Gaussian double ellipsoid was selected in order to enable greater possibilities for the calculation of the moving heat source. The numerical results were compared with available experimental and mathematical results.

AB - Influence of the contact pressure in the deep drawing processes is a very actual research topic in the metal forming technology. Within this research the tribological model of the strip sliding in the flat die was developed. The original experimental computerized apparatus for testing of the strip sliding in the variable contact pressure conditions was developed, as well. The complex, multi-factor experiment was performed by application of the Al thin sheet, with the contact elements of various roughnesses, with different lubricants application and with the variable contact pressure. Besides the description of the developed apparatus, the theoretical way for determination of the pressure dependences was also presented. Based on the theoretical changes of pressure, set in advance, the real influence of the contact pressure was obtained, for each of the given conditions. That makes possible to determine the influence of the tribological factors on the actual pressure. The obtained real contact pressure has verified the reliability of the experimental apparatus, namely the degree of the theoretical pressure dependences deviation from the real ones.

AB - In this paper are presented results of tests and analyses of complex dynamic loads carried out on the bucket-wheel excavator SchRs 650/5x24 Krupp, as well as assessment of service life of vital welded structures of a bucket-wheel excavator boom subjected to cyclic loading with a variable amplitude through the use of experimental tests carried out in order to determine operational strength and growth of a fatigue crack for one structural part. Bucket-wheel excavator was built by "Thyssen Krupp" company, Germany. Outer loads, or in other words digging forces for the overburden and coal have been calculated on the basis of measured values of actual current intensity of the bucket-wheel drive and recorded output values of changeable loads. Correlations between the power of the bucket-wheel drive system and adequate hourly production, depending on the overall digging resistance which affects the stress condition of the bucket-wheel, were also determined. Results of the theoretical and experimental analysis of natural and forced oscillations of the support structure for various exploitation conditions are presented in first part of the paper. Deformations epsilon(i) determined by tensometric measurements on the rotating shaft of the bucket-wheel were converted into tangential stresses through the introduction of the modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio, which, along with the polar moment of inertia of the cross-section, define the moment of rotation on the bucket-wheel shaft. Through the use of the load - strength comparison method (maximization of the ratio of load and strength indicators) the application factor of the gear with the largest number of turns K-A has been determined. In the second part of the paper methodological approach for the assessment of service life of vital welded structures of a bucket-wheel excavator boom was presented. Assessment was done in order to determine operational strength and growth of a fatigue crack, through the use of experimental tests. Realized researches and results presented in this paper offer great possibilities for the analyses of behaviour of vital welded structures of the bucket-wheel boom. By the application of the measurement device with 8 channels for registration and processing of electric signals HBM Spider 8 and measurement tapes HBM 6/350xXY31 deformations were measured at vital welded structures of the boom in the area of the bucket-wheel. The objective of the test is to determine if there is a possibility of occurrence of plastic deformations or initial cracks due to fatigue at vital welded structures and to obtain data which define crack growth.

AB - Smanjenje otvora žljeba može značajno doprineti efikasnosti zavarivanja i produktivnosti teških metalnih konstrukcija Uobičajena je upotreba uglova žljeba od 45° i 60°. Smanjenje ugla otvora žljeba smanjuje potreban broj zavara, čime se smanjuje trajanje zavarivanja, potrošnja materijala za ispunu i zaostali naponi i deformacije. Međutim, smanjivanje ugla žljeba dovodi do određenih poteškoća.
AB - Reduction in groove opening can significantly contribute to welding efficiency and productivity of heavy metal structures. It is common practice to use welded joint groove angles of 45° and 60°. Reduction of the groove opening angle decreases the necessary number of welding passes, thus decreasing the welding duration, filler material consumption and residual stresses and strain. However, groove angle reduction leads to certain difficulties. It is hard to control the arc in a narrow groove, which could lead to welded joint quality issues. In this paper, welding of butt joints made of 22 mm thick steel with the groove angle of 20° is shown. Welding was performed using the MAG procedure, with software controlled ar.

AB - Polazne strukture i vreme hlađenja u temperaturnom intervalu 800 - 500°C (t8/5) imaju presudan uticaj na strukture i osobine zone uticaja toplote zavarenih spojeva čelika.
AB - The starting structures and cooling times in the temperature range 800 - 500°C (t8/5) have a decisive influence on the structures and properties of the heat affected zone of steel welded joints. At the cooling time t8/5, inter alia, the groove edge temperature has an effect. Due to heating by the electrical arc, the groove edge temperature along the joint, increases, resulting in extending of the cooling time of the heat affected zone. Therefore, the cooling time t 8/5 is extended along the joint. The paper presents the measurement results of the groove edges temperature during the welding of the multilayer joint of the microalloyed steel P 460 NL1. The influence of these temperatures on the cooling time t8/5 and on the macro and microstructure and hardness in the heat affected zone of this welded joint was determined.

AB - In this paper is presented behavior of microalloyed steel weld metal with niobium during impact testing, as well as microstructural characterization. Impact tests were done on instrumented Charpy pendulum at room temperature, at -40 degrees C and -55 degrees C. At room temperature, crack propagation energy is much higher than crack initiation energy, while at -40 degrees C and -55 degrees C crack growth energy is lower than crack initiation energy. Fractographic investigation of the fracture surfaces has shown that at room temperature ductile trans-granular fracture is dominant, with a small amount of brittle trans-granular fracture. At lower temperature, the share of brittle fracture is increased, and inter-granular brittle fracture becomes dominant

nivoa kvaliteta zavarenog spoja. Povećanje stabilnosti utiče na smanjenje
mogućnosti pojave nesavršenosti, odnosno grešaka u samom spoju. Stabilnost procesa zavarivanja se ogleda u stabilnosti električnog luka. Promene

mostova, kranova, transportnih sredstava i sl. Ono ima odlučujući uticaj na
kvalitet, pouzdanost, vek i cenu izrade navedenih konstrukcija.
preko kvalifikacije i sertifikacije osoblja i opreme, kvalifikacije procedura
zavarivanja i kontrole tokom i nakon završene izrade konstrukcije. Zahtevi za
kvalitet koje treba ispuniti u pojedinim fazama izrade konstrukcija definisani
su u standardima serije EN ISO 3834.
Odstupanja izvedenog kvaliteta zavarenih spojeva od potrebnog najčešće
nastaju u fazi zavarivanja. Do sada nije postojala mogućnost za kontinualno
praćenje, beleženje i skladištenje podataka o parametrima zavarivanja. U radu
prikupljanje i beleženje podataka o parametrima zavarivanja, upotrebljenim
materijalima i angažovanim zavarivačima, njihovo poređenje sa zadatim vrednostima i obustavljanje zavarivanja u slučajevima utvrđenih odstupanja. Na
taj način se znatno poboljšava kvalitet i pouzdanost zavarenih konstrukcija.

AB - Welded joints represent locations where failure is most likely to occur in welded structures. Welded joint failure depends on their vulnerability to crack initiation and growth. These factors are significantly influenced by the welding technology. The effect of welding technology on the frequency of welded joint failure is complex, and has been thoroughly researched in literature. However, there are still numerous factors whose influence is not sufficiently explained. In this paper, the ratio of strength and plasticity of parent materials and weld metals on deformation properties of welded joint zones were analysed, along with the effects of groove edge temperature on cooling time in the heat affected zone and the effect of multiple defects on local stress increase.

AB - Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to point out the possibilities for friction welding of dissimilar steels which are used in various industries. In addition, friction welding is a welding method that is applied for executing the very responsible joints. This research is focused on friction and tribological processes in the friction plane of the two pieces during the welding. Design/methodology/approach - The present study research has been conducted based on the experimental testing of cylindrical specimens and results are analyzed. Findings - The austenite grain size is affected by several factors through the friction process phase and the compacting phase during the welding. The very fine grain is the consequence of the high degree of the plastic deformation of the near-the-contact layers even in the friction phase. The viscous layer, which is formed during the stable friction phase, is the area where the moving of matter occurs according to a very complex mechanism. Originality/value - The paper contains useful results from the area of conventional friction welding of dissimilar steels and it can be very useful to researchers and engineers who deal with similar problems.

AB - Surface welding is a way to extend the exploitation life of damaged parts and constructions and the heat input has a major influence on the weldment properties. In this paper is shown the influence of the heat input on the toughness and the fracture mechanism of the surface welded joint. Surface welding of high carbon steel with self shielded wire was conducted with three different heat inputs (6kJ/cm, 10 kJ/cm and 16 kJ/cm). Total impact energy, crack initiation and crack propagation energy were estimated at room temperature, -20 degrees C and -40 degrees C. Fracture analysis of fractured surfaces was also conducted and it has been found that increasing of heat input leads to an increase of share of transgranular brittle fracture, what is in complete accordance with the obtained energy values. Based on all obtained results, the optimum value of heat input for welding procedure applied was defined.

AB - Cracks and other defects that can occur in pressure vessel have been a significant practical problem for the integrity of such vessels for a very long time, and these defects can initiate and propagate due to various factors, such as the development technology or manufacturing processes, welding activities, exploitation conditions to which the vessel is subjected, or environmental effects. For some of the previously mentioned influences that can affect crack initiation it is impossible to predict whether or not they will cause problems, since they depend on several factors. In this paper, the effect of exploitation conditions and welding of starting pressure vessels on crack initiation and propagation is presented. The starting pressure vessel is a part of
he boiler installation within the Obrenovac thermal power-plant, and is used for moisture separation. The crack was located in the welded joint between one of the connecting branches and the starting pressure vessel, which was subjected to relatively variable exploitation
conditions. Effects that could lead to crack initiation and propagation were analysed, along with potential solutions that could help in avoiding these issues. Short theoretical reviews of requirements that must be met by pressure vessels (in terms of standards) are shown, as well as the theoretical observations related to the effect of welding activities and the consequences of defects that could occur.

AB - In this paper is presented a theoretical-experimental analysis of the aluminum-copper joining by friction welding. Considering that such Al-Cu bimetal joints are widely applied in industrial practice, experimental analysis in this paper was performed on the concrete elements used in electronics. The fact that the joining is done of the two dissimilar materials points to complexity of the problem, since phenomena that appear in the joint zone extremely influence physical, mechanical and structural properties of the welded/base metals. Besides the theoretical analysis of the basic phases and mechanisms of the friction welding process, the research also included experimental analysis of the geometry changes due to the plastic deformation, the change of microstructure and hardness in the joint zone, as well as of the basic mechanical properties of the Al-Cu joint, such as tensile strength. This paper presents some significant results, which point to the possibility for realization of the reliable joints of the two dissimilar metals.

AB - With preheating of steel the cooling speed of a heat affected zone decreases, which prevents appearance of structure prone to cold cracks. On the other hand, too small cooling speed, in this area, results with growth the metal grains which, also, leads as to the higher prone to cracks. Common used method for calculation of preheating temperature for high strength steels ar Itto - Bessyo method, and method by standard SRPS EN 1011-2. This paper presents the methods for calculating the preheating temperature of micro aloyed steel P460 NL1. Analysis of the results obtained from both methods shows significant differences in the amounts calculated preheat temperature. It was concluded that both methods have limitations that must be taken into account in their application in practice.

AB - It has been established that the ferrite structure occurring in different morphologic forms dominates in weld metal of microalloyed steel. Acicular ferrite is the most desirable morphology of ferrite, so this paper analyses influence of the composition of gas mixture on the ferrite modification in the weld metal, specially on the morphology of acicular ferrite. At the same time, this morphological form of ferrite is very significant, because it has great influence on the mechanical properties, especially toughness. Five different gas mixtures (Ar, CO2, O2) were used to determine the optimal gas shielded metal arc process. For investigated microalloyed steel, the optimum gas mixture has been established (5% CO2, 0.91% O2, balance Ar), providing maximum impact
energy due to microstructure, consisting predominately of acicular ferrite.

AB - We present the experimental-numerical analysis of the influence of temperature on mechanical properties of structural high-strength steel class S690QL. Since the steel S690QL belongs to a group of steels with good mechanical properties, the aim of this paper is to determine the highest temperatures at which these good characteristics are kept. Experimental tensile testings of the specimens were performed at five different temperatures in the range from 20 to 550A degrees C. Beside experimental testing, strengthening curves were calculated and numerical analysis using finite element method was performed. Both the experimental and numerical results have shown that decrease of mecahanical properties occurs at approximately 450A degrees C.

AB - One of the main parameters that influence the properties of the welded joints made by arc welding processes is heat input. Providing sufficient reliability of welded structures, especially structures made of high strength steelsand development of new materials create a need for more precise measurement parameters on the basis of which to calculate the amount of heat input. In this paper, it is for precisely calculate the amount of heat input necessary to continuously measure the current and voltage during welding. The measured results showed that the current can significantly fluctuate during welding of a weld, that the average current in one part of the weld may vary significantly from the average value of current in the second part of the same weld and that both may be different from the average value for a current for the whole weld.

AB - The use of flux cored and self-shielded wires as filler materials for gas metal arc welding is growing constantly due to increased productivity and efficiency, better weld quality and easer operation. On the other hand, one of the major drawbacks of these wires is the increased amount of fumes and gases and insufficient data of their harmful effects, especially in the case of self shielded wire. Therefore, in now days, one of the most important requirements is environmentally and health request for decreased fume and gas emission. In this paper, the plates of steel micro alloyed with V, Nb and Ti, were welded with metal cored wire in shielded atmosphere of Ar+5.9%CO2+1.1%O2 and with self-shielded wire. The concentrations of emitted total dust and gases CO, CO2 and SO2 were measured. Obtained values were compared with permissible exposure limits defined by standard. It was estimated that self shielded wire did not show higher toxicity compare to metal cored wire, what is in the contrast with previous studies.

Utvrđeno je da samozaštitne žice, suprotno očekivanjima, ne pokazuju veću toksičnost u odnosu na metalne punjene žice., The use of flux cored and self-shielded wires as filler materials for gas metal arc welding is growing constantly due to increased productivity and efficiency, better weld quality and easer operation. It was estimated that self shielded wire did not show higher toxicity compare to metal cored wire, what is in the contrast with previous studies.",

U ovom radu, mehanički su obrađene laserom dve grupe uzoraka; osnovnog materijala i laserski zavarenih spojeva.

AB - Laser surface treatment is both a thermomechanical and mechanical process, based on the ability of a high energy laser pulse to generate shock waves and plastic deformation in metallic materials. Laser welding is a high energy density process with many advantages such as narrow heat affected zone, lower heat input and lower heat/energy distortion compared to conventional welding processes. In this paper, Nimonic 263 alloy sheets are laser welded by Nd:YAG laser using different laser processing parameters. The microstructure, surface roughness and mechanical properties are investigated. Welded joints are mechanically treated by laser in order to improve the surface and mechanical characteristics. Mechanical characteristics are determined by tensile test, and fractures and laser treated weld surfaces are observed by scanning and optical microscopy. Surface topography is analysed by optical profilometry and micro hardness is measured by Vickers method.
