AB  - A numerical study of transient three-dimensional heat conduction problem with a moving source is presented. For numerical solution Douglas-Gunn alternating direction implicit method is applied and for the moving heat source flux distribution Gaussian function is used. An influence on numerical solution of input parameters figuring in flux boundary conditions is examined. This include parameters appearing in Gaussian function and heat transfer coefficient from free convection boundaries. Sensitivity of cooling time from 800 to 500°C with respect to input parameters is also tested.

AB  - Sensitivity analysis of transient three-dimensional heat conduction in a plate during process of welding is performed. Crank-Nicolson method with multi-step Douglas-Gunn Alternating Direction Implicit (AD!) method is used for the solution of heat conduction equation with convection boundary conditions at all surfaces, and with heat source at the top surface moving with a constant velocity. Sensitivity equation method (SEM) is applied for sensitivity calculations. It is shown that SEM is a set of straightforward operations in the case of heat conduction equation. Development of the sensitivity equation with respect to the power of the heat source is demonstrated and final results for this sensitivity are presented.

Damage Level Estimate of API J55 Steel for Welded Seam Casing Pipes

AB  - The subject of this paper is investigation of the damage level of API J55 steel, used for manufacturing casing pipes by high frequency (HF) contact welding. The analysed pipe was withdrawn after about 70 000 hours of service in an oil drilling rig. Experimental analysis included determining the mechanical properties of the base material and welded joint, in particular the tensile and impact toughness testing. Fracture behaviour is examined by testing the modified compact tension (CT) specimens machined with a pre-crack in the base metal, weld metal and heat affected zone (HAZ). The critical value of the stress intensity factor K(Ic) is determined using the critical value of the J integral J(Ic). Fatigue crack growth rate and fatigue threshold stress intensity factor range are determined by three point bending tests of the Charpy specimens with a V-notch. The investigation conducted on specimens cut from the exploited pipe and the new pipe of the same grade revealed that material properties were not seriously altered during the analysed period of service.

AB  - Izbor čelika, dimenzija i načina proizvodnje šavnih cevi je deo procesa konstruisanja, jer je u uskoj vezi sa funkcijom cevi kao konstrukcijske celine u određenim uslovima eksploatacije za predviđeni vek trajanja. Kvalitet zavarenih spojeva u procesu proizvodnje šavnih cevi definiše se karakteristikama koje cevi moraju imati da bi zadovoljile određene zahteve, što se postiže izborom odgovarajućih postupaka i parametara zavarivanja, sprovođenjem programa kontrole svih tehnoloških operacija u njihovoj izradi i mehaničkim i tehnološkim ispitivanjima otpornosti i deformacije osnovnog materijala i zavarenih spojeva cevi. U radu su prikazani rezultati istraživanja pokazatelja kvaliteta šavnih cevi izrađenih od čelika povišene čvrstoće X60 i J55, namenjenih za izradu cevi za naftovode, gasovode i bušotine. Spiralno zavarene cevi izrađuju se zavarivanjem pod praškom (EPP), a uzdužno zavarene, visoko-frekventnim postupkom zavarivanja (VF). .
AB  - The selection of steel, the dimensions and methods of fabricating seam welded steel tubes are closely connected to the function of tube as a whole structure in specific working conditions, for a calculated service life. The quality of welded joints in the fabrication process of seam welded tubes is defined by properties the tubes must possess in order to satisfy defined requirements, and can be achieved by choosing appropriate procedures and welding parameters, by following control programmes in all fabricating operations, and through mechanical and technology stress and strain tests of base metal and seam welded joints. In the paper are described quality indicator research results of seam welded tubes made of high strength steels X60 and J55, dedicated for producing oil and gas pipelines and in oil wells. Spiral welded tubes are produced by submerged arc welding (SAW), and the longitudinal welded pipes by high frequency welding technique. .
