AB - The safety of children in traffic is a global problem. The education of children is the basis of improving their safety in traffic. However, new times bring new ways of education. For the above reasons, experimental research was carried out in which it examined how the designed traffic playground can be used in the education of children about traffic safety. For research purposes, a traffic playground was designed in a real and virtual environment. 60 children between the ages of 7 and 10 participated in the experiment. The recognition of the elements of design traffic playgrounds, as well as the behavior of children when crossing the street in a virtual and real traffic environment, were examined. Children have a higher percentage of correct answers in the virtual traffic environment than in the real traffic environment.

AB - Balanced Scorecards represent powerful management tool for describing, explaining, representing and implementing different business strategies. Being in use for more than two decades, this tool proved its applicability in public, private and non-profit enterprises, which makes it suitable for applying in local development plans. The municipality of Sayski Venac applied balanced scorecards as decision-making tools to structure its objectives and articulate them into the strategy. However, the energy efficiency, although perceived as a national priority, was not included in the developed municipality strategy map. This paper investigates the possibilities to integrate the energy efficiency objectives and the municipality strategic objectives, in order to identify and apply proper key performance indicators, targets and measures to improve energy efficiency in different sectors. The ultimate goal is to propose proper GHG mitigation measures to enhance energy efficiency that will fit within the local development strategy of the municipality of Sayski Venac, to align the energy efficiency measures with its energy policy, to improve the selection process of the energy efficiency measures and to adjust it to the municipality needs.

AB - The hygrothermal properties related to rockwool insulation material structure with different additives are presented using rockwool insulation products obtained from row material of southern Serbia (Vranje region) in the wide range of reference temperatures (10 degrees C to 70 degrees C). The hygrothermal properties of basic sample (without additives) are compared to two samples with different additives for two sets of rockwool insulation samples namely: light-soft-panels with density of 50 kg/m(3), and middle-weight-panels with density of 80 kg/m(3). It is shown that there is significant (approximately 10%) improvement of thermal conductivity for additives based on zeolite. Also, correlation of thermal conductivity and sorption properties of selected samples are presented.

AB - Paper presents comparative analysis of residential indoor air pollutant concentration change over future specified time horizon, implementing building physical and thermal retrofit measures, thus creating pollution mitigation scenarios for existing Belgrade and Nis housing stock followed by greenhouse gas emission reduction scenarios up to 2050. Regarding specified mitigation scenarios, the set of typical housing unit models has been generated which define existing housing stock of Belgrade and Nis. Extensive monitoring of physical and thermal parameters as well as detailed socio-technical survey of selected households was performed and used as an initial modeling input. Relationship between environment pollution and building performances was investigated, with respect to indoor-outdoor sources of pollution, thermal and physical properties of the stock samples and occupant's behavior. As a final output, indoor pollutant concentrations for each of the modelled cases was obtained and validated against the available data. This housing modelling framework has been created in order to develop an assessment of present and future exposure and health impact quantity regarding single/multiple scenario interventions introduced to the housing stock. This paper provides each strategy guidelines for taking measures towards achieving the healthier indoor environments.

AB - In this paper, presented is the stale-of-the-art of energy Efficiency of residential buildings in Serbia. Special attention is paid to energy efficiency in already existing buildings. The average energy consumption in residential buildings in Serbia is over 150 kWhm(-2) per year, while in developed European countries it is about 50 kWm(-2) per year. In this paper examined is the contribution of ventilation losses, through the windows of low quality, regardless whether they are poorly made, or made from bad materials, or with no adeguate glass. Besides ventilation losses, which are of major importance in our buildings, special attention is paid to transmission losses, which are conseguence of the quality and energy efficiency of the facade. All of the above statements are proved by measurements obtained on a representative building of the Block 34 in New Belgrade, built in the eighties of the last century. In addition to measurements performed the calculation of energy consumption for heating during winter has been made. The results of two different methods of calculation of energy consumption for heating are compared with the values obtained by measuring.

AB - Efficient and rational implementation of building stock CO(2) emission reduction strategies and policies requires the application of comprehensive building stock models that have the ability to: (a) estimate the baseline energy demand of the existing building stock, (b) explore the technical and economic effects of different CO(2) emission reduction strategies over time, including the impact of new technologies, and (c) to identify the effect of emission reduction strategies on indoor environmental quality. The aims of this paper are fourfold: (a) to briefly describe bottom-up and top-down methods and overview common bottom-up modelling techniques (statistical and building physics based), (b) to critically analyse the existing bottom-up building physics based residential energy models focusing on their purposes, strengths, and shortcomings, (c) to compare five building physics based bottom-up models focusing on the same building stock - UK case study, and (d) to identify the next generation of coupled energy-health bottom-up building stock models. This paper has identified three major issues which need to be addressed: a) the lack of publicly available detailed data relating to inputs and assumptions, as well as underlying algorithms, renders any attempt to reproduce their outcomes problematic, b) lack of data on the relative importance of input parameter variations on the predicted demand outputs, and c) uncertainty as to the socio-technical drivers of energy consumption - how people use energy and how they react to changes in their home as a result of energy conservation measures.

AB - Approximately 33% of total annual energy consumption and carbon emission in Belgrade (Serbia) are related to the housing sector. As such, the housing sector represents a key determinant in the development of an overall national carbon reduction strategy. The development of an effective carbon reduction strategy increasingly requires use and development of detailed predictive tools. The aims of this paper are twofold: (a) to review the state of the art bottom-up housing stock models, and briefly comment on the use of various building simulation tools in building stock modelling focusing on the housing sector, (b) to provide a conceptual algorithm for the disaggregated physically based bottom-up energy and carbon emission modelling of the housing stock in Belgrade. The suggested algorithm has been constructed around three separate components which will be created and analysed during the course of this project: a) a data module which contains information on various energy related characteristics of Belgrade's housing stock, such as urban layout, building envelope and building services; b) a data module based on a comprehensive monitoring campaign of selected dwellings in Belgrade, and c) a data module based on comprehensive modelling scenarios which will be carried out using a whole building zonal model such as 'Energy Plus'. The suggested algorithm has been designed having in mind that the results of the modelling have to be easily translated into an easy to implement carbon reduction policy.

The suggested algorithm has been designed having in mind that the results of the modelling have to be easily translated into an easy to implement carbon reduction policy.",

AB - The paper presents the results achieved by the project financed by Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection of Serbia during the period 2003-2005. The purpose of the project was determination methodology for designing heating system using geothermal water. Achieved results were implemented in the demonstration installment in factory "Palanački kiseljak" in Smederevska Palanka, Serbia, using geothermal water from the well near by factory.
