AB  - This article aims to investigate the mechanical characteristics of specimens fabricated using Selective Laser Sintering technology. The research covers flexural specimens, produced by PA12 materials. CAD model dimensions were selected according to the ISO 178 standard, and the chosen specimen geometry is 96 x 8 x 4 [mm] in bulk. All specimens were produced using a specialized machine Fuse 1 (FormLabs, Summerville, MA). Four specimen batches were produced, each with a different printing orientation (i.e. vertical and horizontal) and location on the printing plate (i.e. in the middle and on the edge of the powder bed). The specimens are tested using a Shimadzu universal machine for testing the mechanical characteristics of materials, AGS-X 100 kN, with a unique additional tool for testing 3-point bending specimens.

AB  - U radu je predstavljen sistem upravljanja otvorene arhitekture koji je implementiran na troosnoj glodalici za obradu drveta koja može raditi i u vertikalnoj i u horizontalnoj konfiguraciji, kao i upravljanje preko digitalnog dvojnika. Razvoj sistema upravljanja putem digitalnog dvojnika motivisan je istraživačkim i edukacionim zahtevima. Razmatrani CNC sistem za obradu drveta je podržan od ekvivalentne virtuelne mašine u sistemu upravljanja kao digitalni dvojnik. Konfigurisana virtuelna mašina se koristi za simulaciju obrade i verifikaciju sistema upravljanja. Prikazan je jedan test predmet koji je obrađen u vertikalnoj i horizontalnoj konfiguraciji da bi se potvrdila efikasnost razvijenih sistema upravljanja koji su zasnovani na LinuxCNC-u.

AB  - Tehničko rešenje pripada oblasti mašinstva – specijalnih motornih i priklјučnih vozila. Odnosi se na jedan od domena aktivnosti u okviru istraživanja podržanog od strane Ministarstva prosvete, nauke i tehnološkog razvoja Vlade Republike Srbije po ugovoru 451-03-9/2021-14/200105 – domen specijalnih drumskih vozila. Shodno tome, tehničko rešenje rešava problem transporta teških inženjerskih mašina, borbenih vozila i kontejnera u MO, Vojsci Srbije. Poluprikolica omogućava prevoz tereta dužina do 8700/9500 mm i mase do 30 t. Noseća struktura poluprikolice razvijena je u skladu sa tehničkim zahtevima naručioca i važećim standardima. Provera čvrstoće noseće strukture urađena je metodom konačnih elemenata korišćenjem adekvatnih softverskih paketa, a testiranje kompletne konstrukcije izvršeno je od strane korisnika Ministarstva odbrane Republike Srbije, a u prisustvu predstavnika proizvođača.

Development and static strength analysis of the modified military semi-trailer bearing structure

AB  - The development of a new semi-trailer presents a great challenge for designers, as well as the investment of a significant amount of money and time. Army vehicles have specific characteristics and allow certain flexibility in measure dimensions which can be defined according to the specific needs of customers. This paper presents the reconstruction and modification of an old semi-trailer with the aim to reduce manufacturing costs. The base for modification was a semi-trailer, 30 tones load bearing, which spent approximately 30 years in exploitation. According to the assessment of the state of the current bearing structure and materials, the vehicle owner decided, to retain half construction, reconstruct and develop another half to the specific purchaser's requests. The first step was to remove one-half of the construction which must be reconstructed by cutting. Furthermore, a 3D and numerical model of the bearing structure was formed. Static strength analysis of the modified vehicle structure was performed using an adequate software package and finite element method. Analysis was done for the different load cases and defined by valid standards and purchaser requests. Obtained results showed that modified vehicle structures can withstand defined loads without any permanent deformation. After producing 2D documentation, production of prototype semi-trailer was launched, and a vehicle was delivered and involved in exploitation. After a year of exploitation test, the modified bearing structure satisfied all required criteria and serial production can be started.

The influence of welded ribs on the stability of the X table construction

AB  - With the upward trend in designer furniture production, this inevitably imposed the need for using CAD/CAE systems in its design and manufacturing. The reason for this is the increased competition in the market, necessitating new products to be released as soon as possible with a lower price tag. This in turn requires manufacturing of a zero prototype which should considerably correspond to the finished product later to be launched onto the market. A research was conducted to determine the applicability of a computer aided product design and calculation system, considering only tables of larger dimensions. The designer's original idea is firstly illustrated by a rough sketch or a CAD model of the table. The following step of the designing process is to analyze the stiffness of a given table, i.e. determining its stress and deformation state. Simultaneously, product manufacturing technology is also considered from a mechanical engineering point of view. Due to products’ specificity, they are usually made as a combination of tubular semi-finished products and sheet metal parts with thickness of 4-6mm. For selected table models, CAD models were generated using the Sheet Metal Module of the Autodesk Inventor computer software and Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) performed. Depending on the numbers obtained for stress and deformation state in the stress concentration zones, a modification of the shape is performed to fulfill the stiffness requirements. Static calculations were also carried out in order to determine the dimensions of the table base for the selected area of the worktop made of solid wood; usually oak. Experimental verification of acquired numerical results was conducted after manufacturing of a physical prototype of the table. The results obtained point to a conclusion that the application of CAD/CAE systems is justified in furniture design, particularly because it greatly reduces the time needed for designing good and quality products.
