This paper analysed the influence of various factors on moulding discontinuities and moulding quality. The research established that most causes were rooted in a casting process itself, such as: the method of alloy preparation, mold fabrication, moulding design and alike. Further, human fault is often referred to as a cause of moulding discontinuities. This paper showed that business entities do not pay much attention to human errors made in decision-making. Based on the research conducted, a series of measures have been proposed to prevent moulding dicontinuities.
