This paper analysis abilities which modern industrial mobile robot should possess so that it can be called autonomous, owing to development of new control strategy. Established concept of intelligent mobile robot control at all levels (recognition, sensor-motor coordination and robot control on execution level) is based on learning algorithms of artificial neural networks. Aiming to verify the set up concept of intelligent mobile robot control on the basis of the recognition system and machine learning, experimental system is developed. Experimental results showed that intelligent robot control strategy successfully realizes manipulation of objects in order to solve robotic assembly task considering the autonomous mobile robot behaviour development.
