dc.description.abstract | Fracture mechanics parameters are used for numerical and analytical risk assessment of residual life of a cracked oil drilling rig welded pipe. Number of cycles to the critical crack length, obtained by direct integration of Paris law, verified by using extended Finite Element Method, are related to the number of cycles needed for 10 years of exploitation, to assess probability and risk due to fatigue crack growth. | en |
