This article presents the research results of direct contact condensation of steam on freely formed falling liquid jets. After the comparison of experimental data and open literature correlations it was concluded that published correlations does not provide accurate coverage of experimental data. A new correlation was established in the following form Nu= center dot[Re-L(1.175) center dot (mu(L)/mu(W))(1.175) + 17740] center dot We(G)(0.086)center dot Fr-L(0.023) center dot Ku(W)(1.14)/We(W)(0.098) center dot Pr-W(1.8). center dot(rho(L)/rho(W))(0.097) center dot (sigma(L)/sigma(W))(-0.12) center dot phi(H-LG/d(h))
