This paper presents the results of experimental research on shell-side heat transfer coefficient concerning 3 heat exchangers with helical coils. Measurements were carried in laboratory and the following correlation was found to be adequate Nu = 0.50 . Re-0.55 . Pr (1/3) . (eta/eta(w))(0.14) where Re and Nu are based on shell-side hydraulic diameter.
