AB  - This paper is devoted to the ductile–brittle transition behavior of high strength low alloyed structural steel NIOMOL 490K. This steel grade is designed for welded pressure vessels exposed to dynamic loads, operating at temperatures below zero, and that is why it must have acceptable toughness. Due to its importance for the safety assessment of pressure vessels, a characterization of this steel with Charpy V-notch test in range of temperature between-60 ⁰C and +60 ⁰C was undertaken. Ductile-to-brittle transition temperature curves were generated in the present study by using instrumented Charpy pendulum impact test on V-notch specimens. Notches were located in the parent material, heat-affected zone and weld metal. The nil-ductility temperature and tensile properties in temperature range from -60 ⁰C to +60 ⁰C are presented in this paper. We used different test temperatures to better understand ductile-to brittle transition response than just use either Charpy energy or other related ductility criteria.

Elasto-plastično ponašanje zavarenog spoja od niskolegiranog čelika povišene čvrstoće u uslovima niskocikličnog zamora

AB  - Ova doktorska disertacija se bavi proučavanjem ponašanja zavarenog spoja niskolegiranog čelika povišene čvrstoće NIONIKRAL 70 usled dejstva niskocikličnog zamora. Kako su u praksi zamarajuća oštećenja veoma zastupljena, akcenat na prslinama je od velikog značaja. Stoga, najveći deo ovog istraživanja je posvećen ispitivanju otpornosti na niskociklični zamor čelika Nionikral 70. Važna činjenica je postojanje značajne plastične deformacije u petlji histerezisa iz koje su konstruisane ciklično naponsko-deformaciona kriva i kriva deformacija-vek. Pomoću ove dve krive su izračunate ciklične karakteristike za ocenu ponašanja materijala i parametri niskocikličnog zamora za proračun zamornog veka.
Zbog sticanja šire slike o nastajanju i razvoju zamornih prslina u zavarenom spoju, kao heterogenoj strukturi zbog svoje geometrijske nesavršenosti usled zavarivanja, urađena su ispitivanja pomoću elasto-plastične mehanike loma. Univerzalni parametar J-integral i njegova kritična vrednost JIc su primenjeni za proračun otpornosti ka stvaranju prsline. Takođe, parametri mehanike loma su upotrebljeni za ocenu rasta zamorne prsline karakterističnih zona zavarenog spoja u vidu Parisove relacije koristeći vezu brzine rasta prsline sa opsegom faktora intenziteta napona na vrhu prsline.
Razlike u svojstvima karakterističnih zona zavarenog spoja su uočene i kod udarnih ispitivanja što je i dokazano vrednostima žilavosti na različitim temperaturama odnosno vrednostima prelazne temperature krtosti.
AB  - This doctoral dissertation studies the behaviour of the welded joint of high strength low-alloy steel NIONIKRAL 70 due to the effects of low cycle fatigue. In practice, fatigue damages are very present, that's why the focus is on the cracks is of great importance. Therefore, most of this research is dedicated to examining the resistance of steel NIONIKRAL 70 to low cycle fatigue. An important fact is the existence of significant plastic strain in the hysteresis loop from which are constructed cyclic stress-strain curve and the fatigue life curve. Using these two curves were calculated cyclic properties for evaluating material behaviour and low cycle fatigue parameters for the calculation of fatigue life.
Due to a wider perspective on the initiation and development of fatigue cracks in welded joints, as heterogeneous structure because of its geometric imperfections due to welding, tests were performed using the elastic-plastic fracture mechanics. Universal parameter J-integral and its critical value JIc were applied to calculate the resistance to crack initiation. Also, the fracture mechanics parameters were used for the evaluation of the fatigue crack growth for characteristic zones of the welded joints in the form of the Paris equation using relationship of crack growth rate with stress intensity factor range at the crack tip.
Differences in the properties of characteristic zones of the welded joint were observed in impact tests as evidenced by the values of toughness at different temperatures and the values of the nil-ductility transition temperature.

AB  - From a fracture mechanics point of view on welded joints, it is assumed that the welded joint is pre-cracked such as that the fatigue life of the pre-cracked structure is then determined by the period of crack growth under variable load. Experimental data obtained by testing provide a substantial basis for a better understanding and an explanation of the phenomenon of material fatigue. Low cycle fatigue (LCF) occurs during the process of charging and discharging of reactors, pressure vessels and pipelines; the fatigue can be accelerated by an additional negative effect of temperature variation and the aggressive effect of the media contained inside the vessel, and during the exploitation of the equipment in the processing industry.
In the present paper the results are presented of J-integral measurements at LCF of a low-alloyed high strength steel (HSLA) weld metal used in the submerged arc welding process in the manufacture of pressure vessels.
AB  - U zavarenim spojevima, sa gledišta mehanike loma, se pretpostavlja prisustvo prslina, gde se onda vek s obzirom na zamor takvih konstrukcija sa prslinama procenjuje vremenom rasta prsline pod promenljivim opterećenjem. Eksperimentalni podaci dobijeni ispitivanjem pružaju značajnu osnovu za bolje razumevanje i objašnjenje fenomena zamora materijala. AB  - U ovom radu, zavareni spojevi AlMg4.5Mn legure, zavareni TIG postupkom, su testirani u cilju istraživanja njihove otpornosti na stvaranje prsline. Ploče, dimenzija 500 x 250 x 12 mm, su zavarene TIG procesom u horizontalno-vertikalnom položaju. Različite mešavine inertnih gasova su pripremljene i snabdevene od MESSER TEHNOGAS AD, Smederevo (Srbija), uključujući Ar, Ar + 0,015% N2, Ar + 15% He + 0,015% N2, Ar + 30% He + 0,015% N2, Ar + 50% He + 0,015% N2. Ispitivanjima bez razaranja su otkrivene greške zavarenih spojeva, poroznost, tipično za ovu vrstu legura. Šarpi epruvete sa zarezom postavljenim na različitim delovima zavarenog spoja, su ispitivane instrumentiranim klatnom sa mogućnošću razdvajanja energije inicijacije i rasta prsline. Otpornost na stvaranje prsline je određena statičkim (KIc) i dinamičkim ispitivanjem (rast zamorne prsline - Parisov zakon).
AB  - In this paper the AlMg4.5Mn TIG welded joints have been tested in order to investigate their cracking resistance. Testing plates, size of 500 x 250 x 12 mm, are welded by TIG procedure in a horizontal-vertical position. Various mixtures of inert gases are prepared and supplied by MESSER TEHNOGAS AD, Smederevo (Serbia), including Ar, Ar + 0.015% N2, Ar + 15% He + 0.015% N2, Ar + 30% He + 0.015% N2, Ar + 50% He + 0.015% N2. Non-destructive testing is used to check joint defects, primarily porosity, as typical for this type of alloys. The Charpy specimens, with the notch positioned in different regions of the welded joint, are tested using instrumented pendulum to separate crack initiation and growth energy. Crack resistance is evaluated by using static (KIc) and dynamic testing (Paris law - fatigue crack growth).

AB  - Analiziran je uticaj zaštitnog gasa, na žilavost metala šava aluminijumske legure AlMg4.5Mn dobijenog MIG/MAG postupkom zavarivanja. Za merenje žilavosti je korišćeno instrumentirano Šarpijevo klatno sa mogućnošću razdvajanja energije nastanka i energije rasta prsline. Za MIG/MAG zavarivanje korišćene su četiri različite zaštitne atmosfere: čist Ar, kao i mešavine gasova Ar + 0,0307 % O2, Ar + 30 % He + 0,0317 % O2 i Ar + 48 % He + 0,0290 % O2. Metalografska ispitivanja su urađena da bi se ispitala pojava grešaka i poroznosti metala šava, a žilavost metala šava je ispitana na različitim temperaturama (20, - 90, - 196 °C). Na ovaj način je dobijen sveobuhvatan uvid u uticaj zaštitnog gasa na žilavost metala šava kao najkritičnije oblasti zavarenog spoja legure AlMg4.5Mn.
AB  - The effect of MIG/MAG shielding gas on the toughness of aluminium alloy AlMg4.5Mn weld metal has been analyzed using the instrumented Charpy pendulum for standard toughness testing. The MIG/MAG welding was performed in the shielded atmosphere of Ar, as well as the mixtures of gases Ar + 0.0307 % O2, Ar + 30 % He + 0.0317 %O2 and Ar + 48 % He + 0.0290 % O2. Metallographic tests have been performed in order to check the appearance and porosity of the weld metal, as well as its toughness testing at different temperatures (20, - 90, - 196 °C), using the instrumental Charpy pendulum, in order to separate the crack initiation and crack growth energy. In this way, a comprehensive insight of the effect of shielding gas on the weld metal toughness has been obtained.
