AB - It is generally recognized that sight is the most important sensory perception used to collect information while driving, comprising up to 90% of the total information collected. It is of great importance that those objects and stimuli that must be perceived to drive safe, are the ones that will be the first to be observed and located by the driver. It is especially demanding when objects are perceived using mirrors in the vehicle. For the above reasons, an experimental study was carried out, which includes the evaluation of the distance with/without rear-view mirrors in the vehicle. The results show the difference in the estimation of distances when a rear-view mirror is used and when the rear-view mirror is not used. The test objects were various colors, so the results involve also this aspect of perception. The above results play an important role in improving the safety of all road users.

AB - The subject of this paper is the identification of hazards for the workplace of the maintenance worker bucket-wheel excavator SRs 1200x24/4, as well as the risk assessment for that workplace. In addition to the hazards arising from the design of the machine itself, ergonomic hazards have been identified, as well as hazards arising from the working environment. The HRN (Hazard Rating Number) method was used to assess the risk. The emphasis of the paper is on the comparison of the original HRN method with two modifications of this method. The mentioned modifications refer to the tabular values of the influencing factors used in the risk assessment. It was concluded that the original HRN method still represents a solid basis that allows its application in practice for risk assessment.

AB - The importance of adequate lighting in buses for urban passenger transport is great, for the reason that adequately designed lighting contributes to the comfort and safety of passengers. In addition to the fact that passengers expect that the buses participating in public transport meet adequate lighting conditions, they also expect that identical or approximately the same lighting conditions (as well as other environmental conditions) exist in all buses, regardless of brand or type of a bus that participates in transportation. In this way, a balanced quality of service is achieved and a positive effect on customer satisfaction. The focus of this paper is to investigate the existence of differences in the distribution of light in different types and brands of buses used for urban passenger transport in Belgrade. For this purpose, five locations where illumination was measured were selected: at eye level for the seated passenger position, at floor level at the aisle location, at floor level at the stair location, at eye level for the standing position of the passenger at the aisle location and at the location of warning signs. The research included 140 buses that have participated in urban passenger transport. As an additional factor, the zones of higher and lower street lighting were taken into account. This factor has not previously been taken into account in considerations of this kind. Based on the testing of statistical hypotheses, the results of the research showed that at none of the five mentioned locations there is a uniform level of illumination in the observed sample of buses. In order to eliminate this shortcoming, certain recommendations have been given for lighting designers of buses.

AB - Societal safety measures that have been used to prevent infections spreading, when too strict or prolonged, can have negative consequences, among which disruption of economy and income or jobs loss are the most severe. Certain research also suggests that the psychological footprint of COVID‐19 probably will be more substantial than the medical footprint. Psychological responses, especially anxiety and fear, are important factors for an individual’s behaviors. COVID stress syndrome is a complex phenomenon involving various types of fears. Fear and anxiety-related behaviors relating to the coronavirus pandemic was assessed with the newly developed multifactorial questionnaire, COVID Stress Scales (CSS). The focus of this study was to examine the relationship, if there any, between employment status and COVID‐19‐related experiences of stress. High perceived stress levels were associated with employment in companies with a majority share of private capital and with being retired, while unemployed participants and employed students seemed to be at least anxious. CSS could be valuable for health practitioners, policymakers and other researchers as a tool for determining who are at higher risk of psychosocial issues, in order to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on mental health and to tailor ergonomics interventions.

AB - The adult ergonomic design principles usually do not apply to children, because their needs, skills,
and expectations differ. The purpose of this study is to explore preschoolers' and primary schoolers' color
perception and memorization in the context of spatial orientation, in order to explore possibilities of
implementation of colors in the design of the school interior. Our experiment involved 80 participants. This
study mainly recruited children aged 5 - 9 years as research participants. After the investigation, we found that:
(1) Children showed the highest accuracy in memorizing the yellow object (87.5 %), while they had
demonstrated the lowest percentage of correct answers when memorizing the blue object (73.8 %); (2) Boys
showed a higher accuracy in the perception of colored objects, compared to girls, for all four used colors; (3)
Older children (third grade) showed better accuracy in memorizing the targeted properties of used test object of
different colors (for all used colors) than younger children. These findings are considered in the context of the
design of school equipment and surrounding.

AB - Air-conditioned buildings are buildings that are increasingly used for providing adequate working
and living conditions for employees. A large number of offices, classrooms and other workrooms are located in
buildings of this type. For this reason, the measurement and control of air quality and microclimatic conditions
in buildings based on the use of HVAC systems is of great importance. This paper aims to point to an important
factor to be considered when assessing air quality and microclimatic conditions in air-conditioned buildings. In
many scientific papers and everyday practice, adequate importance has not been given to the above-mentioned
factor, first of all in the context of its potential impact on the results of air quality control. Often it was omitted
from the consideration, or it was incompletely considered. This paper emphasizes the importance of a
comprehensive examination of this two-component factor described in this paper, which essentially represents
a combination of a technical and a human factor.

AB - There is very few theoretical and practical research related to the possibility of using ergonomics to
improve the supply chains management and the functioning of supply chains. In textbooks and other books in
the field of supply chain, almost without exception, ergonomics is not mentioned. This paper has the main goal
to highlight the importance of applying ergonomics in the design and implementation of supply chains. In
connection with this, segments of supply chains have been identified in which ergonomics can provide
significant material, safety and other contributions. In addition, several examples from practice are presented
that indicate real gains from the application of ergonomics in supply chain management. The basic conclusion
of this paper is that a multidisciplinary approach is required for the design and successful management of
supply chains, which includes experts in the field of ergonomics.

AB - Airships represent a type of transport vehicle possessing great potential for the development of
various branches of industry. They can provide probably the greatest comfort in transporting passengers in
relation to all other means of transport, which makes them particularly suitable for different tourist
arrangements. However, today the use of airships is almost inversely proportional to their capabilities and the
potential they have. One of the reasons for such a situation is certainly the safety aspect of airships. The
unfortunate cases from the past have largely affected the demand for this type of transport. This paper aims to
investigate to what extent the human factor was the reason for the occurrence of accidents with airships. Based
on the insight into the literature and documentation related to accidents of airships, it can be concluded that the
human factor did not have a large share in the occurrence of accidents involving this means of transport.
However, the prevention of accidents in the future requires a more complex ergonomic analysis that should
include a segment of human factors in all parts of the system that are related to the design, use, driving, control
and testing of airships and their personnel.

AB - The subject of considerations in this paper are the components of the potential of the energy model
of a production system. In the literature dealing with this problem, the components of the potential of the
production system are not defined more precisely. Also, the problem of the relationship between components
of the potential has not been considered. In this paper, concrete expressions for the potentials relating to the
human resources, material resources and the potential regarding the means of work has been derived. Also,
based on the derived formulas, the relationship between the aforementioned potentials of a production
system was considered. The conducted analysis shows that in order to optimize business, one should not aim
at simultaneously reducing the investment in all three mentioned resources. The key to business success is to
synchronize investment into the potentials of human, material and technical resources.
