AB - Research Question: The aim of this paper is to determine the factors influencing safety climate in different industrial sectorsin project-based organizations. Motivation:Systematic research on occupational safety is not so frequent in the Republic ofSerbia. The lack of research that deals with safety climate in project-based organizations exploring the attitudes of employeesin different industrial sectors is evident. In the research conducted by Milijic et al. (2013) a model for measuring safety climatefactors was proposed and the following step is to identify the most important safety climate issues for each industrial sectoras a key to fostering better safety performance. Chen et al. (2018a) concluded that engagement at all levels of the companyis essential to fostering better safety performances as well as that safety awareness is the most important factor influencingworkers' safety efficiency. The authors of the present paper seek those particular factors that adequately describe safetyclimate in project-based organizations by examining the attitudes of workers in different industrial sectors. Idea: The main ideaof this paper is to evaluate and rank safety climate in different industrial sectors and different workplaces considering thefollowing five factors of safety climate: Safety and competence awareness, Occupational safety management commitment,Safety training and tools, Safety practices and procedures and Organizational environment. Data: Safety climate analysis wasconducted on a set of data collected as a part of a survey carried out in eleven project-oriented organizations operating indifferent industrial sectors on the territory of Serbia. Tools: This paper proposes a multi-criteria analysis of the data collectedfrom a national survey using the Entropy-PROMETHEE-GAIA method. Findings:A complete ranking of safety climate inproject-oriented organizations based on the opinions of employees in different industrial sectors resulted in Energy as the best-ranked sector. On the other hand, the worst-ranked sector is High-rise construction. The results of the complete ranking ofsafety climate in project-oriented organizations based on the opinions of employees at different workplaces in differentindustrial sectors showed that the best-ranked alternatives were manager working places. When it comes to productionworkers on projects, the most favorable safety climate is in energy workplaces and for non-productive workers, while the mostfavorable safety climate is on projects in the field of mechanical engineering. Contribution: Adopting the conclusions fromthe paper can, in practice, improve safety climate along with safety at work in project-based organizations.

AB - This paper presents an analysis of the failure determinants of small and medium
enterprises in Serbia. The aim is to examine the relationship between size and age, and the
failure of small and medium-sized enterprises. The analysis was performed on data from a
survey conducted in Serbia in small and medium-sized enterprises during 2018 and 2019,
which had financial difficulties and at some point ceased or dramatically changed the business
operations. Separate statistical analyzes were conducted for the size of small and medium
enterprises and the factors of failure, and for the age of enterprises, in order to determine the
categories that are more sensitive to financial distress than others. The results indicate that
enterprises in Serbia are differently affected by the financial crisis when looking at the size of
companies, while attitudes about certain factors of failure do not differ. Further, in the case of
the age of the enterprise, the results show that younger enterprises are more prone to financial
crises and bankruptcy than more mature enterprises.

AB - This paper presents a conceptual framework for investigation of the factors influencing the failure of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as the level of their recovery. Based on the review of literature, all the factors are classified either as individual characteristics of entrepreneurs or non-individual characteristics, that is, characteristics related to SMEs. Having in mind various factors identified by different researchers in their studies, the authors of this paper formed a basic hypothetical framework as well as a qualitative framework for evaluation of the most significant factors influencing SME failure and recovery. Accordingly, a preliminary questionnaire was designed in order to collect the attitudes of entrepreneurs regarding the impact of particular factors. The results of the survey were used for further quantitative analysis and as a base for the formation of a structural equation model for testing the proposed hypotheses.

Using the structural equation model to derive results, the authors have found that all the analysed factors except the factors related to private time activities of entrepreneurs/owners of SMEs have a statistically significant influence on SME success, with external non-individual factors having the greatest influence. Furthermore, the results indicate that the level of recovery, business life cycle stage and the sector of a failed SME impact on the ranking of the factors leading to SME failure. The study points to the necessity of improving the conditions under which SMEs operate, primarily by removing the obstacles that hinder growth and development of SMEs as well as by developing the appropriate system of support for entrepreneurs. In addition, having a clear vision of the factors of failure can help SMEs to become more resistant to the adverse effects of these factors and deal with them more effectively.

AB - This paper presents the results of the analysis of the safety climate as an important
segment in the efficient achievement of project goals. The paper aims to validate and test the
proposed conceptual model of safety climate. Hence the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling)
methodology was applied. Statistical analysis was performed using the software package
SPSS 18.0 and Smart PLS 3. The five-hypothesis model was developed and tested on a
sample of 96 participants employed in 6 project-based companies, whose main activity was
the realization of infrastructure projects. Results of empirical research confirm the formulated
hypotheses, but show significant differences in the strength of the observed impacts. Within
research conclusions the special emphasis is placed on those safety climate factors whose
improvement would increase the efficiency of project tasks realization. Finally, the results
indicate the fact that development of an adequate safety climate positively influences the
efficient achievement of project results.

AB - The small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are a vital part of economic growth in
each country and their importance locally rising with the more severe economic crisis and
globalization. SMEs face numerous challenges in striving to preserve their existence and
develop solid business. There are various personal-entrepreneurial, internal and external
factors that influence the high failure rate of SMEs. This paper provides a literature review on
the factors that influence SMEs failure and proceeds with an analysis of the effects that
demographic parameters have on the failure of the SMEs in Serbia. Data were obtained from
comprehensive research conducted with the aim to define reasons for the failure of SMEs and
possibilities for the recovery after failure. The findings reveal the elements that should be
focused on and should be explored in order to understand the SMEs failure causes and
provide the opportunity to avoid them.

AB - This paper explores the impact of the main elements of the knowledge management
concept in project-oriented companies on achieving the project goals and the realization of
benefits on the company level. The proposed conceptual model and a set of four hypotheses
have been tested on a sample of 161 respondents, involved in different types of projects in the
region of Central Serbia. Statistical analysis was performed using the software package SPSS
18.0 and LISREL 8.80. Hypothesis testing has been performed by usage of SEM (Structural
Equation Modeling) methodology. The derived results confirm the hypothesis and indicate the
positive correlation between them.
